I am a beginner and just got up to running half marathon distances. One thing with this is that now i am doing these distances im starting to get some chaffing. I wear tight-ish boxers with running shorts that have a lining in. Should i wear boxers with these or some different underwear? any help on this would be helpful
Many thanks
Terry
Comments
- boxers fine
- lycra works well for me
- vaseline!
if you dont mind me asking Terry wheres the chafing?Speedos, speedos, speedos.
Close fitting. Designed to get wet.
If anyone says go commando. They've clearly got no 'man tackle'.
🙂
Chafing is around the bottom of my bottom lol. Thanks for the tips though people. RicF that really made me chuckle
I did, I would like to blame it on fat fingers but it was just me being illiterate. Thanks for mentioning it though lol
sounds like the boxers are a little too tight OR seams are a little hard/heavy stitching
RicF got some incredible pictures in my head now of someone doing a local 10k in their speedos!
Cheers jason
These are the ones I wear from M&S wick well and keep the plums in the fruit bowl
Choisty that is a brilliant analogy. I will have a look at them mate thanks. Still laughing lol
Shorts with a lining are enough for me - after a mile or two, the shrinkage factor should make any hangout unlikely. For HMs and marathons, smear vaseline over as much of your body as will rub as possible, and I include in this your bits and your back crack, as well as your nipples. Vital.
Cheers Peter, yeah i have just been experiencing the whole joggers nipple too so will be using your advice
Doesn't work for everyone.. trial and error.
It cant hurt to try. These are the times to be doing it and not on the day of the VLM
Vaseline! old hat mess.
Try the modern equivalent.
🙂
Never even heard of that before. Will give them both a try and see which works for me. Thanks again everyone for your advive and your humour about the subject. Really made me laugh
Terry
Good to see others are taking up the crusade for the elimination of unnecessary Fs
Can I suggest a third alternative? Bodyglide works for me (not that I have quite the same problem, but it works).
shorts with a lining are enough - you don't need pants. add Bodyglide if you've still got a problem.
also make sure you wash the shorts regularly (as I'm sure you would).
Places to go, people to see!
Nike Tempo 2 in 1 shorts have a compression brief which keeps evrything nice and snug. Keeps my hamstrings nice and warm too.
