Left over mash sounds like cheese & potato pie to me. layers of mash & cheese, popped in the oevn until the cheese goes all melty in the middle & crispy on the top. divine.
... did the smell get you..... that would have been painful....... have to admit its usually sweet stuff, but I also long for anything with way too much fat in it too. Someone was talking about a Greggs sausage roll on the forums the other day..... now that is laaarrrvvveeelllyyyyy.........
The course of the Reading Half Marathon takes you into the town centre and right past the door of the West Cornwall Pasty Co. So close you can see them and smell them. Torture, unbearable torture.
Pie again for tea tonight. A cold pork & egg pie - like a gala pie, only individual sized. Instead of a hen's egg, it was using a quail's egg in the middle. Aww, how sweet, and how utterly delicious. One of my favourites, and all to myself.
Xine - that's almost enough to get my fat arse out the door & running again!
My best memory of Harry Ramsden's is a weekend in Bournemouth when they ran out of large pieces of cod, so if you ordered large cod they gave you two small pieces. By my reckoning, you got more fish and because of the increased proportion of surface area, a lot more batter. Happy days.

When I used to be a street sweeper, we had to sweep every morning past a bakery that made their own pork pies. You could smell them ... but the shop wasn't open yet ...

Anyone else a fan of ...
Sorry, NLR.
(not really, that did make me laugh though!)
OW it is merely the name of my avatar, I no more look like it than my Green dress wearing chum looks like his. You're not shy and I'm not puffy.
As far as I know Puff is a magic dragon, he lived by the sea
He started frolicking?
I don't get a stiffado all that often these days....
In the land of Honah Lee?
Love it, xine.....
I'm usually thinking about chips during a long run ... I'm sure that's what got me through the Brighton Marathon, running towards Harry Ramsden!

Probably just as well
Boing!
Thought I'd try a Prince's snake and pygmy pie tonight. Says on the tin that with roast potatoes and peas it makes a hearty meal for two.
I roasted some spuds, boiled up some peas and ate the whole thing myself
Was it good?
It was!
