However, Boris the Bat to date is still our best success story. The kids found a grounded bat in daylight (never a good sign), it was a baby pipistrelle. We took it in and phoned the (no irony) very batty bat people and 24 hours later they collected him and nurtured him back to health. Normally rescued bats are then released back to where their colony is, but with Boris because he was so young he was taken to a new life in a bat sanctuary near Plymouth.
Love this story - it's brilliant. Hope Boris is still alive and well in Plymouth.
also loving the Daily Mash report - very funny. But I agree, it is an outmoded belief system.
Nice young man in the High Street today, handing out leaflets about Islam. He asked me what I thought was the purpose of life? I said I didn't think anyone knew the answer to that. Him: that's not a very fair answer. Me: it wasn't a very fair question! Him: well do you think it's about serving god... Me: I think we have different views on gods. He smiled sweetly and wished me a nice day. So different to people who insist that you're evil and wrong if you don't agree with their point of view.

"The infant was left bitter and angry after being dressed up like a tiny old lady and baptised against his wishes."
