I've bought a few tops, shorts and socks from Sports Direct and they've been fine. Don't expect world-beating, but they're ok for the price. Have always considered running shoes from there to be a bit of a risk and not necessarily that cheap anyway.
I believe that the shop floor staff got about £40,000 each when he paid out the big bonuses a few years back......not something shop floor workers are used to
Just to be devil's advocate, I bought my 8 year old son a pair of Karrimor trail shoes to see him through the last few weeks of school after he trashed his Clarks. Admittedly he is not running in them but he has done everything else, including climbing trees and playground football. They have been great and are showing no signs of wear. I'd buy them again for him. I'll stick with the Saucony's for me though!
I'll like to agree with ben davies 15 on his submissions. I currently work for SD and can attest to his claims. 3days ago my store manager got a bonus of £36,000 after we smashed a regional weekly sales record.....with I and 2other "red shirts" breaking KPI record sales. As a show of appreciation for our dexterity we were offered cookies n fizzy drinks in the staff room. In addition we were paid half of a month's wages. How generous...I just love my employers...(lol).

I reckon running in socks would be less detrimental to your feet that running with a pair of D30's on!
Invest your money from the ankles down.
Cheap running clothing works just fine.
Your socks protect the parts that hit the ground, so it is worth investing a bit more money here.
The shoes are obviously where the real investment is needed.
Why ? I have no foot problems running in Karrimor socks, so why waste money spending even more cash
Or alternatively try barefoot running
Taxi Driver
Barefoot running is the most expensive kind there is.
Dave
I have never used Karrimor socks, but their construction dosn't fill me with confidence.
I don't care what it does for you..... I've been more than happy running in them this year
If anybody can invent a running sock where I don’t have problems with my feet, then they are very clever.
Ever considered it might be your shoes or boots ?
Nah.
I never had any problems from one year to the next until I started running 100s, then my feet started to disintegrate like wet tissue paper.
The only thing that has ever really helped is covering the inside of my socks with talc, and changing them periodically.
So maybe your shoes aren't up to the increased mileage

It's not a place I frequent, although I have bought the odd item there in the past.
My opinion of it rose greatly after I read this.
They have a very good staff bonus scheme for management, but nobody on the shop floor will see anything.
Not according to the story, Ben.
Fair play to anyone who's managed to stick it out on the shop floor long enough to qualify!
Good luck finding anybody who has stuck it out on the shop floor long enough to qualify.
The Sports Direct business model is based on having a constant turnover of shop floor staff.
It seems that English comprehension is not Ben's strong point
He was a Saturday girl there

Dude, I can asure you that no shop floor staff have ever received a bonus of £40, never mind £40 000.
This is not a company that places any value on retaining any member of staff beneath management level.
Dude ? You really love Sports Direct and big Mike don't you
We parted on amicable enough terms, but this is not a progressive employer that invests in its shop floor staff.
I'm sure Big Mike speaks highly of you as well
He bloody well should.
I actually served the customers for him!

Never buy expensive shoes for children.
They will destroy them. They will outgrow them.Best to cut your losses and buy Karrimors.
Ahem, if this Grauniad report is true then maybe I shouldn't be so impressed and I should say sorry to Ben for being rude
Don’t worry about it.
Just understand that Sports Direct is built on smoke and mirrors.
They have got to their current position in the market by pretending that goods that have only ever been sold for £20, used to cost £60.
Their managers work every hour that god sends, get brainwashed from day one, and get bloody good bonuses.
Their shop floor staff are worked very hard, get paid the national minimum wage, and very rarely stay in the job for more than six months.
To all

No one is forcing you to work there
Like there are so many job options out there
