"what's the IMUK 2013 list?" and a kiss at the end of a post... Perfect Tri, top marks!
I don't train with people so I don't have to have conversations either, but that means it generally feels like hell when running
Also I rate hard workouts using the PIM scale, 0 being not trying hard enough to 10 plus where I may wish to reconsider my diet or the workout before a re-attempt
Thinking about your running dilemma, first 20 mins I would suggest sux for everyone, if you read any running books ( I recommend "born to run" or Ultramarathon Man) you will note that even really good runners struggle with the first twenty minutes BUT the one thing everyone says is that it's all in the head - I enjoy my runs so much more (bearing in mind I hate running) when I get my mind somewhere else or working on solving a problem
Also I spend a lot of time repeating the mantra from "Born to Run" in my head,
Morning all, rest day for me. Although been and done a volunteer turn at Fritton park run this morning. Daughter ran it, think she would rather had my scanning job
Good swim time & well done even going in today Gas. You guys are going to leave me for dust at IMUK. They do OWS at the park run venue i was at this morning. It's also where my Tri is next weekend. Looked more like the sea today though with all the waves.
Also heard someone had difficulties in the norwich OWS this morning, would imagine it was very choppy there as well.
Will keep that book list, currently reading Chrissies, i'm a slow reader though, even slower than my swimming. Did start reading 'Year of the Ironman' but have struggled to get into it.
Need to wash & lube up the bike, pack up the kit ready for tomorrows journey, weather is supposed to be loads better but i'll believe it when i see it.
Got to say I struggled with the "Year of the Ironman" book. I simply didn't click with the author.
Another one I didn't get on too well with was (something like) "How Triathlon Runied my Life". Each to their own of course although I found the author of this book waaaaay to aggressive.
On the other hand I did enjoy the "Iron War" book and also the one written by IronHolgs. Both well worth slamming onto the Kindle (in my humble opinion)

Thanks to everybody for the advice. I do feel though, if i slow down enough to hold a conversation then I will probably be walking not running!lol
Sausagedog - what is IMUK 2013 list?
Thanks guys!
A x
The list is those of us who will be attempting to pop our Ironman cherries next year. Sounds like you would be an ideal joiner to the group.
Get a copy of Don Finks book 'Be iron fit', this will prepare you well. I hope
You probably want to put your order in for your Pirate Monaco top so you have it in time for the event.

P.S. can we put your name on the IMUK list then?
Racing Weight
The Primal BluePrint
How to correctly use banned substances in sport
Its because of his book I'm here! His and Chrissie's.
First I read Paula Radcliffe's and then ran a marathon, now I've read these and well, I'm here, thinking about IM.
I think my next book will be about a basket weaving expert.
Really??
An unfortunate cross post there!!!
So, gas, when will we see you in print?
Perish the thought Nursey!
Meldy - another night owl? Or are you at work?
Just about to finish
Back again for another late shift tomorrow !
What's your job?
I listen to audiobooks on long runs and in the car.
Born to run was good. Ultramarathon man annoyed me. His ego was too big!
Morning all
Wet & windy here again. Planning to run later, which is fine in the wind & rain, but I hope it clears up for cycling tomorrow.
Never tried audiobooks, Spoons, but I know a couple of people who use them for long runs.
I must give it a go.
(I can't even listen to music when I'm running so my reading window is about 10 minutes during a down time, before I nod off!)
Bacon and egg sandwich then shower - happy days.
M...eldy's a witch, didn't you know?
Hi M...eldy...missed you in Marlow again this week
Very choppy in the lake today, got a good couple of lungfuls in... 1500m in 31'22"
Would love to write a book, never seen to have time
Spoons good point, must read less and sleep more (it's sleep which is sacrificed)
Good running people!

Moi M..eldy?? You should know by now I'm not that sort of boy!!
Did 1500m OWS this morning. Are you sure this training stuff is absolutely necessary??

Well, I don't offers like that every day Once I've learnt to swim without the armbands, I might have to take you up on that!
