Entries are flying in at Lakesman HQ for the 2017 event and many of you who spectated this year are telling us you were inspired enough by our awesome athletes to become a "Lakesman"... Who is in for next year?? Limited capacity strictly 750, we promise to keep our athletes at the heart of everything we do!
Love the location and the look of the race etc but will probably only have permission to go long once next year! and the Champs are currently pencilled in for Bolton, I want to do the Pirate Champs so unless something changes the Lakesman will have to wait for me!
I would love to do it again but Mrs Tricoops says no! I will try earning some Brownie points but if all fails I'll definitely be supporting. As everyone says, it is a superb event.
Ooooooh, dilemma. I had every intention of doing Bolton next year, but this is extremely tempting. Our holiday plans mean it might work out to be the better option as far as dates are concerned.
Pros: Scenery (it's in the Lakes) Price (£300, and you can pay in 3 installments if you so wish) Single transition, no pissing about getting from one to the other Flat-ish route for the Lakes (about 3-4000ft climb on the bike, one bit of an uphill on the run course) Great medal Friendly atmosphere, run by people who tri themselves Free event photos
Cons: A couple of minor issues such as briefings etc which should hopefully be improved

Terrific report in the local paper tonight, and every local I've chatted with over the past couple of days are raving about how amazing it was

as some one who won't be racing, but having done both Bolton & Lakesman, there is only 1 I'd do again

I'm making no progress trying to decide which to enter and which to support at
Lakesman
Pros:
Scenery (it's in the Lakes)
Price (£300, and you can pay in 3 installments if you so wish)
Single transition, no pissing about getting from one to the other
Flat-ish route for the Lakes (about 3-4000ft climb on the bike, one bit of an uphill on the run course)
Great medal

Won't comment on Bolton as not done it
The Lake District
a swim in a crystal clear lake, with stunning scenery
a superb undulating bike ride, no massive climbs but testing, the section on the coast road is amazing
a run through town with terrific support from the locals
more camping & accommodation than you can shake a stick at.
great beer, and event sponsored by a distillery ( gin, whisky & vodka )
the locals are friendly
only £270
Bolton
..............
a dirty lake
good bike course, but now only 2 climbs of Sheephouse nothing special
run in and out of Bolton ( short the year I did it )
IM entry cost
I've done both and would only do The Lakesman again

Its tempting *very tempting*, but may be when No2 son has his GCSE's next year - will pencil it in for 2018 if timing's are off
Oh for crying out loud Nursey. If you're gonna be there I have to do this
might have to sign up for this.
