A double Siggy? Mate, you really do need to shift some of the chub then! The Ibis rooms are very small though.

Are you one of those blokes where the tyre goes a bit flat when you get on your bike now then?
Just thinking back to the room, the shower was tiny. Must have been ooh, a 6 foot by 3 foot bathroom inclusive of everything and the room must have been ooh, 9 foot by 8 foot maybe. Pair of single beds, 2 bikes and a brace of pirates, 2 bike bags and all the kit, it was a bit snug.
Siggy, how would your journey plans work out, roughly?
I'd probably drive down to the Ardeche a week - 10 days before, do a little bit of cycling down there (warm weather aclimatisation
) and there are some nice looong upflats between Les Vans up to Villefort on the D901. Then drive on to Nice on the Thursday before. It's about 3 hours from Lablachere, apparently! There's a good chance I may get a job out there next spring / summer. Just have to see what the gorgeous other half has to say about it! She thought I was going to die at Outlaw last year!! I wasn't as dramatic or attention seeking as you though!! 
As to your other enquiry; I have to be careful with tyre pressures for fear the tyres might burst when I get on!

ISB would it be possible to extend this hotel deal for an extra day either side Weds to Weds if I wished?

Do I understand correctly that this is a provisional booking them until we cough up the dough in the spring? If so I can book and then decide whether or not to take part or just spectate

If I understand correctly, basically you need to email ISB with the information asked for. He will book the room in your name. If you decide not to go to Nice, as long as he knows before he sends out the emails in the spring, ISB can cancel your booking.
If you are still going, no money will be required until the spring deadline when ISB sends out the emails. You will then have to contact the hotel with your reference no.& give them your card details to confirm your booking!
Of course if you decide not to take part but want to come & support then we would still let you stay at the hotel!

Dusty, I've never broken my back! The fact that you started & were 4/5th the way around before your body said 'No more!' Was amazing. I would never have got to the start without your help & inspiration!
It was a 'conditional' green light! Conditional on losing the weight & doing the training required! I'm not sure which is going to be harder to do!
You and me both Siggy - I'm going to see what the summer brings - or rather loses would be better..............
But I will sign up for the hotel list all the same and if nothing else I can shake my pom poms with the best of them
