I am definitely coming to heckle - OH and kids might come too, but I don't think OH wants to so probably on my own! Anyone know what the catering is like or will I want to bring my own sandwiches for lunch?
There is a lesure place for the camp site got all the things kids like chip's burger's ect.. Only other option is a pub a few miles away or the ice cream van. That van better be there or there will be trouble.
Maths how old are the kids? If you want can try and pack arty things to keep them entertained, I'm thinking them watching a lot of stranger's prat about in lycia isn't high on there to do list. Me and bookie have lots of wool and various arty stuff in the house from clearing out Mummy cake's loft and sure I can sort something out for them.
cake - they are 12 and 9, don't think arty things would entertain them much, to be honest they will probably want to go and visit the in-laws anyway and not want to come! I did say to OH they could go for a walk/play in the water (I think there is beachy bit from the look of the website) but I will probably be on my own
Maths this is what I get out to when not playing with you lot. 12 is a little to old for stuff but sure I can leave something interesting for the 9 year old. Will bring and if not needed I can play with it myself after the race. There is a beathy bit but not very inpressive. They might like hiring a boa through.
Good luck to you all. It is a shame I will miss out but there is always next year and I have a short sportive to fit in whilst my brother makes a flying visit to see me.
Yes mate did it last year you can find me at the bottom of the list. It’s a fast course and also the field was good last year with lots of racing snakes. It’s not flat but for the most part the hills work with the route so there are a few places you can hammer it on the tri bar’s.
Doing this (hopefully) as my first half-IM... good luck to everyone. Slightly paranoid question, but i signed up at the beginning of the year (yep... needed that much prep), my names on the entrycentral list but haven't heard a thing from the organisers, none of the usual final prep e-mails. Has anyone else...?
badger I did it last year too, did you pull out last year or was that alibear?? The run is slightly under 13.1- around 12.5, the bike is 52m. The run is long sloping, bike is not too bad.
SP2- we had emails about nutrition on the course, high5 energy bars (might load up on these they are £1.20 at tesco lol), water etc.
I doubt I will be midpacking it at 1.40 - I want the freaking icecream man I ran the course the other week it is undulating but nothing that will make you cry too much.

Quietly packing myself there Cake distracting myself with Outlaw stuff...
all rearing to go, having a nice taper week ( eating crap and lying around).
Isn't that a normal week for sessioned pro's such as ourselves?
