Running experts - some help with a big decision! I am due to run the VLM on April 28th. Training was going really well pre-xmas and I was racking up 20-35 miles a week. Some mild achillies issues but resolved through strengthening exercises. Ran a great hilly 10 mile race early January and did a couple of good weeks after this. Pain started in the left knee around 19th January but I carried on the training that week.....last run was a 10k cut short by knee pain 24th January. I haven't run since. Have seen a physio twice. He says I'm incredibly tight everywhere, hip, glutes, ITB and knee is incredibly inflamed. Last saturday he was fairly optimistic saying I wouldn't get the 4 hour time i wanted in April but i could get round. Yesterday he said its "not insignificant damage" to the knee and he would only be able to say in a month if I can do the marathon. Thats a bit late considering I have people sponsoring me and a charity I'd let down. Anyone got any experience/advice?
