I found the terrain extremely challenging - climbing over fallen trees/roots in the middle of the night. I'd trained off-road, but some of this was really hard, for a city girl like me, anyway.

Is it the Action Challenge event? If so it is really well supported, but some of it is very off-road - clambering over thick tree roots, and picking your way down very steep wooded, difficult terrain ... its a fantastic event, excellent signposting …
