  • I have been twice on a Saturday pm and picking up my number was no real trouble. Ive never queued more than 3-5 mins. Don't however make the mistake my friend made last year and pick up your number and then turn around and walk back out. He ended up…

  • Has anyone seen a link this year to the vmlm tag Heuer tickr? You link it to your social media account and it automatically updates whatever acct when you start, go through half way and finish? The link is usually in one of the e-mails in the weeks…

  • Yes, time to get back to 8mm pace, Skinny. All sounds positive. Taper is passing by relatively comfortably for once. 6 x 2 mins yesterday at hmp to just stretch the legs out and an easy 5 today. Mace, will you be running??

  • I thought they had agreed from sunday a 7 day stand down?

  • GFA are spread across all 4 starts.
  • Thanks, that was quite an interesting read.

  • I think rain is OK if it starts after you have got going. I did Yorkshire in October and it hammered down from an hour before the start until about 3 hours after I had finished. Once I got going the misery was forgotten and it kept me nice and cool.…

  • 31745. I'll see you on the yellow start, OO. I will be wearing a salmon pink coloured nike vest (it looked red on the website!!), a pair of running shorts that are so short my vest makes it look like I am wearing none and bright blue vaporflys. Bas…

  • Good to hear from you, Gerard. SBD, you look like a proper wirey runner there.  Oo, well done on the 10k and to your daughter.  Badbark, sorry to hear about the relapse, Perhaps for once the gp is right. Good luck with mri.  Gul, thats riduculou…

  • Muddy, great result at parkrun. You must really be thinking some 2.45 might be on?  Mcf, thanks for link.  Skinny, this all sounds very good!  14m friday then 5 saturday. Rest sunday for a 38m week.  Easy 4 on treadmill tonight folliwed by spin.

  • Yes they can get expensive. Tapering going well.  14 friday then 5 saturday morning. Been away in Liverpool since Saturday morning for my sons birthday. Got us tickets for the everton game which went well and had a couple of days there. Back in tim…
  • Yes they are very useful for noting dominant sides. I have the same feedback but on my left side. Did you 'enjoy' it? I've been seeing my chap since 2014 and he said it's the best condition he has seen my legs in which is good as he usually see's me…
  • Would you say it's a similar terrain to the Centurion 5 miler?

  • Ah right, that's a decent enough shot, Nicko. That chap in the red and white stripes looks like a well built lad to be running that fast, unless it's just a deceptive picture.

  • Tommy, it is also the Birmingham 10k last weekend in May if you fancy a very big event. I quite enjoyed my lunchtime trot yesterday. I have an actual complete rest day today. 14 tomorrow morning, think i'll try and get out for 9am to avoid the war…

  • SBD- Great report and well executed run/plan Stevie, are you not doing Wythall 10k? Pitchcroft is last sunday in May, that being a racecourse, it is pan flat. Poacher, yes I noted that rule when things changed. Essentially not allowing a GFA entry…

  • Tommy, it struck me whilst out running that 26th May is the Worcester Pitchcroft 10k. That's as flat as can be but is a 3 x 2 mile course so I suspect there may be some traffic to encounter on the final lap. I recall Lou doing it a couple of years a…

  • Tractor 10k is completely sold out. I meant to ask you, is the Ryton 5 miler flat and accurate in distance? Got my eye on that this year.

  • Ticking over here, legs coming back nicely and sports massage tonight. Decent session yesterday, just an 8m mlr today. Looks like a mini heatwave is coming in. Just as well Easter falls late this year as this weekend is the usual London weekend an…
  • Tommy, I am targeting the Magor 10k, which is the last Saturday in July, but again, it is in South Wales. Closer to home I know a few running the Northbrook 10k, which is closer to mcf so she might be able to shed some light on the profile. The oth…

  • very well done, SBD. 1 second faster than my just sub 3.  Poacher, that'll be a shame not to see you in London.  There's one guy in that photo that appears to have viewed a very different forecast to the rest of the pack!! Are you referring to th…

  • In fact, the day after London 18 presented perfect conditions. I was furious, and would be more so if it happens again this year.

  • The weather at this stage and time of year can only provide a forecast based on norms for that particular weekend. London, unless it's  Easter, always lands on 3rd weekend of April. I note we are having a mini heatwave this weekend. Could Easter hav…

  • Yes looking good.  Next weekend is the usual London weekend but of course it's deferred a week due to Easter. Interesting that we are having a mini heatwave for weekend. Could  Easter have outsmarted the weathers efforts to ruin our day!!!

  • That'll be a hell of a tail wind if so. SBD suggested it could be. The elites will have finished by the time I can get home and get it on.

  • Gul, lovely report. Always great to see how much this sort of thing means to someone. Badbark, sounds positive. Yep that wind looks pretty nasty to say the least.

  • A few years ago I would have as well. 40 mpw used to be my max. Of last weeks mileage, I did one session which was just over 8m in total, everything else was slower than 8mm so that does make it more achievable.
  • what 10ks are you entered, Stevie?
