  • Had a huge cooked breakfast, waited then ran a comfortable 7 miles at 8.02 min/mi pace to complete 40 miles this weak. Back to running 6 miles a week.
  • 12 miles done. Completely knackered which is not good. Next week its reduced milage as i have held 40 miles a week for 4 weeks now. I may take it down to as much as 50%. and do a review before I take it up to 44 miles.
  • Yesterday 7.5 miles at 8 min/mi pace and then today 7& a bit miles at 7.39 min/mi pace.Tomorrow 12 miles after work. Will make it 41 total for the week. Miscellaneous observations and events during runs; 1.Yesterday saw woman runner who looked …
  • Ok assuming you have a wide selection of kit.... Look out the window. Whats the weather like? Now put on what you think you will need. Now step outside. Are you warm? Can you feel the temperature? Breeze, sun on your back, the cold air? Now take of…
  • Ra n last evening 6 miles. Ran this morning 7 miles. 28 miles for the week 12 miles left to run tomorrow. Need new shoes as the 500 miles have been reached and I have been feeling the wear since mile 300. I  am fully convinced by low drop minimal …
  • Nothing special to say about my runs since last time. 6 miles at 7:19min/mi pace today. Still doing 40 miles a week over 5 days. Mostly endurance peppered with faster paced miles but nothing specifically stamina or speed related. Just want to get th…
  • Ran for an hour this evening. Bumped into either a cat or a fox in the dark. I should be asleep. Night
  • 6 miles this afternoon, at 8.03 min/mi. Not a recovery run as missed my long run on Sunday as at a music festival all afternoon/evening. Saw Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Patti Smith and Kylie turned up (she tiny). Ate 1 1/2 Bratwurst, a burger and h…
  • Popped out at noonish and did 7 miles at 7:57 min/mi pace which was too fast even after a rest day. Thursday 8 miles at 7:39 min/mi pace. Now up to 40 miles a week don't want to ruin it by doing my easy runs sub 8 min/mi because there is no need and…
  • Just try being a good runner with out physical coordination, timing and aggression. Just try running a relay race without the ability to work in a team. No discipline? Stay on the sofa. No ability to read the oppositions weaknesses and create a stra…
  • Nothing so far today except a 3 mile walk for a new phone cable,  a bison burger, a bronze polo shirt (silk & cotton mix) and my daily vitamin D top up. I took the bus home.  Will do my recovery run later. Only ran 5 days last week but managed 4…
  • 8.1 miles at 7.35 min/mi pace. Highlight was a young lady on a bike, saying that I was going really fast. I had to disaude her of that by saying I wasn't even going at race pace. Do people even know what you mean when you say that? Still....it was …
  • Yes Nessie I am a complete running nerd. What Garmin do you use? Footpod or gps or both? Try looking on the CEX website.
  • No run today as I am having a rest day. Yesterday morning 8 miles at easy pace and the evening before 6 miles easy. Between 8;14 and 8:21 min/mi pace. The 8 miles being much better in terms of consistent pace. Friday afternoon I may to a tempo run. …
  • JT141 said: Stephen E Forde said: Is that the bike JT? That's the one. It's my third beich. Bet its crap in the snow ( I stole that one but I thought it worth sharing Anyways....today 6 mile recovery at 9:40 min/mi pace To ma…

  • Will, tell your dad if he can get down to 25:57 that will give him an age graded score of 70%. A graded time of 18:31. If he can get 29:34 with little prep and still have enough puff then that is doable. Its just a case of time on feet. I take it he…
  • This is the last 38 mile week. Next week it goes up to 41. This afternoon 5 miles completley by feel. Averaged 7:35 min/mi. My purecadence 6 are coming to the end of their lives after 332 miles. Never run in shoes with a 4mm heel drop before these, …
  • 11 miles of playing out, Round the park and up and down the old railway line Last 3 miles at 7:01 min/mi pace running with a another runner. Not too silly fast as we were both able to talk in complete sentences. We parted on a handshake, a curiousl…
  • So Cal you run near me? I use Highbury Fields for tempo and tempo interval runs. Haven't done the parkrun there for some time. Its similar to Finsbury parkrun in that you mustn't over exert at the beginning and be careful to hold your pace on the do…
  • Congrats on two fronts Nessie. One on your 6 mile time. Carry on doing what ever your doing and you will get even faster. Congrats also on seeing the light about work and lunch. Never work and eat lunch at your desk. It results in mindless eating an…
  • 7 miles this morning instead of 6. Evenly split between fast easy pace and slow tempo pace. Tomorrow I rest. Unless i don't.
  • Yesterday 4 miles recovery run @9;39 min/mi. This evening 5 miles. 1 mile easy then 4 at tempo pace. Tomorrow morning 6 miles at easy pace
  • Andrea it was comfortably hard nothing more. I kept it mostly flat and in the shade. Parkrun, then recovery then hill repeats is not a good combination.  Your pace in the parkrun was 7:43 min/mi. That should have been followed by this mornings recov…
  • 11 miles at 7:26 min/mi.  It felt good
  • ....hello?...where is everyone? At them parkruns no doubt This morning 4 and a bit miles run, to keep the legs ticking over Tomorrow there is more. Met a man upon the run who doing 3 marathons next week. I alerted him to the madness of such a ventur…
  • This evening 7 miles at 8 min/mi pace. 7 miles endurance pace, 1 mile at tempo as I was showing off....pathetic...still the splits where quite even which makes a change. Niggly knee but what can you do....well except not show off when your meant to …
  • Hill repeats are fun. Speed work without a track. I have three places near me I use all in the same park which is handy. More slopes than hills but of varying degree and length. A tip don't start too fast. Build up until you can hold the pace consis…
