Haven't seen any results yet. Well done Lotte, DippyD and Tricialitt.
I finished in 4.20.24. Almost 7 minutes faster than my PB so very happy!
Suffered with cramping toes towards the end but, overall, a good race. What great weather!
.......Must remember to pack a respirator.... how can I attach it to my camel-back?
Just a thought- Maybe this plume will hold the cold-front back and keep us just a wee bit warmer whilst we're running!
This will be my 3rd time at Loch Ness (I ran the marathon in 2004 and 2009).
What can I say? It's beautiful but challenging, with hills where you just don't need them (mile 16.5-17.5 and mile 20).
But it's addictive and I love it !
Thanks Andrew for the update. Sounds like an excellent run for Debbo.
What great (and honest) reports. Well done to everyone who even attempted it...a tough race in awful conditions, and congrats to all the finishers.
FFB-hope things loosen up for you soon.
I did a 10 miler yesterday, which was my first long run since Loch Ness. I averaged 3 seconds a mile faster than my Loch Ness pace, and I felt very dubious about my endurance. Don't suppose it helped that I w…
I managed to get a pink long-sleeved top without a hood- it's fab-my favourite colour and comfy too.
Shame that the rest of the women's tops had hoods, as I'd have liked a second top in a different colour.
Tricia- depending on what sort of running you like, a couple of East Coast delights are:
Forfar multi-terrain half marathon in February- as it says on the packet!

I ran (or shuffled in a painful manner) a few miles last week, but then went down with a post-marathon cold. Today was my first run again. I have to say it was nice to run without feeling stiff, just a shame I flt knackered running a minute a mile s…
Aldi stuff is a bit hit or miss. Take the best and reject the rest!
Sizes can be strange but some of my all-time favourite running kit has come from there, and it LASTS and LASTS and LASTS.
Worth a look.
SP-yes it was £10.
I would say there were only 30-40 club or serious runners there.
There were 250 folk though, a lot of whom were run/walking and raising money for various charities.
The last finisher was a 2 year-old girl who had survived meni…
I went into the Perth Big Fun Run this morning (to marshall). A couple of people who did Loch Ness last week got great 5k times.
I've finally gone down with my elder son's lurgy- tracheitis and feeling not quite 100% .
I dare not run as I get bron…
Ahh...she did mention a pal with a helicopter!....... Mind you, it is a bit windy up at Durness, maybe not the ideal place to take off from.
I think the 4 marathons next year would be a fab achievement for FFB. Just a shame about the clash with Cap…
Karen- I'll most likely be the driver for Mr F for the Devil. He has asked a better off-roader than me to be his supporting runner. I'm just too slow on the ups and too slow on the downs too!!!
FFB- Tigerspaw mentioned the 5 in 12. Are you going to…
DR-as someone who can't cope without a good night's sleep I found the condition of the winners just amazing. I wonder what some of the slower folk looked like-completing the race after 2 nights without sleep?
Mr Fifer has entered the Devil O the Hi…
FFB- I've got my entry in for Lochaber now so I'll be joining you for the first two marathons of your grand slam.
Hope you (and the other Loch Nessers) are recovering well. My quads were still a bit tight last night but feel fine today.
I look as if I am in a cold sweat as I cross the finish line (2900). Never mind, ordered it anyone as it's the best of a bad bunch! Guess photogenicity is a bit of a tall order at the end of a marathon!
I don't have any pics up by the Dores guy. I …
