High entry cost but should be a memorable event with snow zones, swiss stuff in the underpass, polar bear and st bernard dog hugs at the end (even some real dogs), inflatable giant snowballs for the warm up and a stunning medal. Atmosphere should b…
Goalpost - There are three 'waves' of starts. Try to get close to the front of yours then after a bit of congestion for the first half mile you should find clearish road in front of you to help get a good time.
Yep Runner Johnny I'm something of a regular now. Expensive to enter but I enjoy the day so look on it as a treat
I shall also be trying to get as near to an hour as possible but expect to fail by around 50 minutes! Which I'll be happy with.
Er.....this might not be the sort of advice you were thinking of Laura.
But it is advice
How do you intend getting there Laura? Trains are usually a nightmare as they annually have engineering works along by Havant.
Aha! Well done Toby3 on starting the thread
After my deferral I had an email today giving me until June sometime to get my guaranteed place. So signed up today!
Those hesitating about entering because of the price should be aware that the entr…
I think a show of hands would indicate that Toby3, Snowmaiden and Pooh Bear should jointly have the honour of starting the Brighton Marathon 2015 thread.

Toby3 - you, a plodder!? I think not
I haven't run for 5 weeks but now almost recovered from Plantar Fasciitis and still have 5 weeks left to train!
I shall be cheering you all on. Look out for the volunteer dressed as a green fairy
Thanks Tracey G, Will have to ease back into it over next two weeks then see what I can do and just go for it on the day if I make it to the start line. Had wanted to be well trained for it this year but things gone against me.
Like most runners …
As I always make the wrong decision I have registered as a volunteer
I have a three night stay in the Travelodge overlooking the start so I might as well make use of it and as I'm there I'll put myself to good use.
So that kind of guarantees I'…
There have been no takers for the plantar fasciitis so I'll have to keep it for myself
My podiatrist was quite optimistic today that I'll be running again in a week or two.
Just as long as I recover enough to get to the start line on 6th Apri…
The event website has details of charities which still have places. WaterAid require £275 fundraising target so if anyone has lots of rich friends or works for a generous company it could be a solution.
Didn't mean to be a party pooper but if the organisers knew of any numbers which were being transferred 'illegally' they could use their 'bouncers' to stop that runner during the race. Again, it has been known to happen.
I don't think there is a …
