  • This app is now available for free download   Android only I'm afraid
  • I added a few more features into this app and fixed a few things up. Getting some decent feedback so far and a lot of downloads. Anybody on here tried it out?
  • I'd love to get a full ultegra 11 speed set but I wouldn't go for di2 personally. That said anything I read about it says people weren't expecting much and since using it wouldn't go back. Its probably fantastic.. I know a guy turned up to a race wi…
  • Nice bike! I recently rode a 15k circuit on a 1980 raleigh converted to fixed gear and again a few days later on a TT bike with aero helmet and wheels.. nothing scientific but the difference was only a couple of mph. Stick with what you have. More s…
  • Nice job on the swim. You've got to break 6 now though I've switched focus massively to strength and conditioning.. Never gave it a good go before but now i've got 3 gym sessions + yoga + pilates each week on top of a fairly light swim/bike/run pl…
  • Stuck with the flats and definitely the right choice. Transitions were a breeze. Must have saved at least 90 seconds. Not sure the flats made much difference to my cycling anyway. Average speed with flats, normal helmet and trainers was 37kph @ 260W…
  • Sounds good. Think that's my decision made.
  • I've been using a fixed gear bike with grippy platforms and haven't slipped off yet (except at 150rpm.. thankfully I've got brakes on the bike! ) I'd be happy enough to go without unless there was significant speed to be gained.
  • 3 pairs? Now you see the benefit of wearing one pair throughout the race!!
  • Cheers Charlie. Not too worried about tips to speed up transitions. More just wondering about how much cycling with platform pedals will slow me down vs losing 15-30s in each transition. cougie - I guess once you've got your feet into the clips th…
  • Didn't get near it unfortunately. Swam well and started well on the bike. Punctured after 30 minutes. Big mistake was trying to make up time after that. Tired myself out after about 140k and struggled big time. The run was just thinking about finish…
  • Cheers. Ready as can be for my first long distance race.. its in Killarney, Ireland and called Hardman. Really nice course. Only 70+12 teams taking part so it will be a lonely race! There is a standard race going on around the same time but they'll …
  • This Saturday. Think I'm prepared okay for it. Not great, but okay I did an hour fairly easy on the bike yesterday and felt rubbish. Think that's just mind games though. Taper has been good and the physio said yesterday that everything's in good …
  • Its an Adamo saddle that I'm pretty comfortable on now. I'll probably pass on the second shorts then. Its a local non IM race. There are plenty of aid stations, roughly 30k apart but I don't know how the drinks will actually be distributed. I thin…
  • Race prep thoughts.. hopefully some of more experienced of you can advise! I was thinking of wearing a long sleeve top for the bike leg.. what do others put on for the bike? Toe covers? Second pair of shorts? I'm not sure whether to stick them on …
  • Nice job staying on the bike. The same thing actually happened a friend last week with gatorskin tyres and it turned out his brake block was a little high and was rubbing the tyre. Could be worth checking that?
  • Fianl prep race done. Had a solid sprint race finishing 18th in 1:05 with plenty left in the tank. Absolutely miserable day so I was pleased just to get around the bike course without falling! Another hard week this week then a 2 week taper. Agree…
  • Standalone marathon is obviously a very strong indicator of your ironman run.. you know you won't run faster than that anyway! I'd guess you would run between 10-30% slower on race day depending on how well you can run off the bike. Based on those n…
  • Yet to do this years race, but IM Mont Tremblant next year looks likely!
  • Nice one Nicco. Great time! At least you know you were just a few longer runs short of being sub 10.
  • Good luck on Sunday!
  • Likewise. Tough session? I had a long brick session and went well enough but I was broken after running for an hour. Went off too fast at the start.  Started with 3.5 hours at race pace on the bike then after 5k running I was naively thinking a su…
  • I seem to have finally shaken off my achilles injury and I'm back running again. Bike rides are getting longer and hopefully quads are getting stronger. Right now I'm struggling to walk upstairs after bricks last night so I'm not convinced on the ge…
  • I got through 2 hours of what could best be described as fartlek cycling last night.. fairly random bursts of 2-5 minute intervals. No problems with the saddle at all. Feels a lot better!
  • OK cheers, i'll maybe try 30 minutes beforehand.. I'm just wary that 30 minutes easy might not really reflect a long harder effort. In my head i'm just thinking how bad can it be but reviews suggest it can be pretty bad!
  • Sounds good. Should I be worried about breaking it in? I have a 3.5 hour bike this weekend that I might try it for.
  • I got my hands on an adamo road saddle to try it out for a while. I've not tried it yet.. any good?
  • Sounds like a plan! Its the beauty of triathlon.. I've spent 2 months injured and feel like i'm still in a better place now than before the injury. Swimming is sorted for give or take an hour. Bike is not where it needs to be but nearly there! Poten…
  • Finally starting to shake this achilles injury.. I got out for an hour steady run and a 4 hour bike over the weekend with only a minor flare up. According to the physio as long as its gone the next day its fine so I'll work with that. Only 7 weeks t…
  • Yeah the physio knows her stuff.. She sorted out an IT band injury last year within a month so there's enough trust there. I've continued with the exercises.. no point going if I'm not going to do what she says! I'm actually trying an hour on an u…
