  • Thanks again, I'll send him a message.
  • I keep getting 'web site unavailable, can anyone else get in?
  • Like Alexander the Average, I got the error message and then got an email saying my application was confirmed. I then tried to register my wife but I just got the error message. Left it an hour and now I can't get into the site at all. Grrr!!!
  • I think the misses and I will be joining you although the wife will probably go for the single lap 5 miler (she was 2nd ladt in 2003)
  • superman, were you running in costume? if not, I passed a runner walking on the right hand side near the exit of Tower Bridge obviously injured and limping badly (dark coloured t shirt I think). I felt so sorry for him so gave him a pat on the shoul…
  • Hi all and well done whatever time you did. I didn't break the 4 hours either, I tapered too early due to a skiing holiday, I had a head full of snot and it was way too hot. Got off to a good start from Blue pen 5 b ut it was congested and the fir…
  • Hi all and thanks to all the supporters for their efforts on Sunday. That said, it didn't work that well for me, I had no difficulty finding you as I was there supporting last year and I also live nearby. I didn't see the countdown markers but then …
  • I'm signing off now until after the event so GOOD LUCK all of you and see you back here on Monday
  • Anyone know what happened to the original supporters thread started by mearkat? I put my race number on there but can't find it now
  • My wife has had a cold for the last few days and now I have it too. We are both running on Sunday though, plenty to eat and drink as well as vit C and echinacea tablets.

  • Oh bugger, I've picked up a cold, not too serious at the moment, just a soreness at the back of my throat but the timing isn't very good. Still I must remain positive, I did the English national xc champs with a cold by dosing myself up with ibupro…
  • Same for me Bryan, I got quite bad blisters when I ran my last FLM ijn twin scin sock (Wright socks) but I don't get on with Thorlos either. Managing the hard skin on my feet with a foot rasp and foot softening cream seems to be working this time …
  • dazza b, the chip will give you the time as you cross the start line and all the 'slit' mats en route as weel as the finish. The FLM clock starts when the gun goes off and is the time you will see on all the clocks on the way round as well as the …
  • Kingdora, no gels, only water and Lucosade sport drink
  • It sounds as though you are all about on target with those 21 + mile runs. I also take the RW recovery periods with a pinch of salt. The RW schedules assume you are fit and relatively young. As you get older your body needs longer to recover from he…
  • Evil Pixie, because we will be running round the Isle of Dogs in the opposite direction this year, we will need to look for the RWUFRC supporters on our left. Just as we pass through a Pelican crossing I think? Anyone want to adopt me by the way, s…
  • Hi all, just added Mrs Jenks (Adele)to the list. It's getting close now!!!! Adele Adverse Camber AJH Ashley and Christopher (so another URWFRC video me thinks!) BB caramac, mystic wind and junior caramacs H. - on the correct side of the road this…
  • One of the best posts on this forum was on this very subject a couple of years ago. The runner was being heckled by a group of teenage girls in a car as they drove slowly past and I think they got very abusive. A little way up the road they got stop…
  • Sorry for the mix up with your name Bikingbird, I must wear my glasses more often....
  • Hi all, did a 22 mile run on friday but struggled to keep my HR down to my normal 'easy'level. I put this down to demolishing the best part of a bottle of chardonat the nightr before but the upshot was that the run took me 8 minutes longer than the …
  • As I said above, in past years, blue to red normally ok. Red to blue not ok. If I recal, in past years FLM have confirmed this on the phone.
  • Jenks the Other, sorry to hear about your shins splints. I had exactly the same thing a few years ago. Have you had your gait analysed to see if you have the correct shoes? I went to a podiatrist and have been wearing motion control shoes with cust…
  • I know what you mean about the shorter runs [email protected], I did one the other week and felt as though I was floating, no effort at all and yet I was flying.
  • the other one is from 2004 FLM - this one is 2005 The problem is that the other thread seems to be busier than this one although one or two are posting on both,

  • I think they will let Blue runners transfer to the red start but not vice versa. The blue start is generaly for club runners and is completely fenced in. Even spectators con't get in unlike the red start.
  • How did we manage to get 2 sub 4hr threads? I've been posting on the other one
  • Sorry to hear about your injury Christy, I got some nasty blisters in the training for my last FLM and found that Compede plasters were very effecive and enabled me to run again straight away with no pain. If you havn't come across them before, they…
  • Hi all, I managed my 22 miler on Saturday (3.40), felt fine up to around 18 miles but the last 4 were hard. Drank lucosade all the way round but on reflection 500ml was not enough in the heat. Helen, by my reckoning 22 miles should take you arounf …
