Supination: Morning all, I find that my shoes all wear after a very short period of time on the outside of the right shoe, close to the edge of my foot. The wear is very specific and it appears I run on the side of my right foot towards the top of the shoe (not the heel). I was originally put into a Nike Zoom Structure (stability) last year when I first started running and they lasted 350 miles before I changed them, but the wear was towards the top of the sole. I went to Hoka Gaviota 2 (stability) and they wore out on the edge of the right shoe after 150 miles. Since then, and after gait analysis, I have purchased neutral shoes. Brooks Glycerin 16, and Brooks Ghost 12 have all worn down after 125-165 miles in the same place. I am now using Saucony Ride ISO2 and 361 Spire 3, and after only around 40 miles there is evidence of wear, but not to the extent of the Brooks and the Hoka shoes (yet). Do I need to focus on shoes, or biomechanics?
