I did see an Everton Crest on a girls bum at the races once - she was wearing white silk trousers - all very chic and sophisticated - apart from the tattoo that showed through.
There's been loads of people emailing to ask for pictures! I don't see why we shouldn't do what the Ironmen do and have our own tattoo!? I think the 'running man' is ideal - it prompts a bit of discussion! A few times people have said, 'Awwwww, I've just worked out what it is you've got tattooed on your arm! It's a man running through a finish line!'
When you also explain that it's the FLM logo you get respect, because you then have the opportunity to regale them with your tales of derring-do around the capital!
A lifelong opportunity to bore the pants off innocent bystanders - what could be better?
... which is why a tattoo should stand on it's own merits as an image, and I believe the cheeky little design I have will stand the test of time.
The subtlety of the finishing line being the River Thames may not seem new to us, but you see the little smile of onlookers as they see the shape they recognise from EastEnders (when it's pointed out to them...)
I've got 3 tattoos and I'm doing the Edinburgh marathon in 3 weeks (my very first!). Would like a tattoo to remind me of my achievement. Not sure I'd like the Edinburgh Marathon tattoo'd on me, but if anyone has any ideas for a design can you post or e-mail me it???? Ta!
Hi... Never being a runner in the past I decided to treat myself to a tattoo...because I honestly never thought I could complete a Marathon..and wanted a permanant reminder!
I have the running man in red and the Thames in blue from the Flora logo.....
It was vert easy for the guy to copy the logo..and just a bit of enlargement so it fits nicely on the arm!
Had it done in a parlour just by Covent Garden....£50.00.....
Only downside...my daughter insists on telling her friends its a ballerina!

I had the letters XXVIii tattooed the day after finishing my first marathon (edinburgh) a few weeks ago. I love it to bits, its a permanent reminder that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Its on my lower forearm. Hopefully the link will work:

So just bear that one in mind ! ;-)
I'm not the only one because I saw a runner with a similar design at the red start.
Was thinking along the same lines...
I'll get a pic of it done and send it to you and Chief Running bare. Will just have to check I can do it through the RW Email Me feature though.
Either that or mail me at christyrrell1@btinternet.com and I'll attach a reply.
It's just the 'running man' symbol. I might add bits like years run etc when I hang up my Asics, but we'll see.
I feel like a celebrity..!!
i was tempted when I finished my first FLM . . .
but having just finished my 6th I am glad
I didn't - I would now have six - or have
to get a tally mark below it updated
every year . . .
. . . now an ironman - that would be different !!
Can always get Ironman done at later stage
