Have entered this race for the first time - really looking forward to running through the tunnel.
I have no worries about the slight incline but i just wondered:-
* Will i still have to stop at the barrier and put £1:40 in the basket?
*Will an attendant be in the STAFF booth if i've only got a tenner in me shorties?
*Do the fans work?
*Has the tunnel ever flooded?
* When am singing in the tunnel, does it boom back an echo(i could be on X factor)
Ran 6 miles along seacombe promenade last nite, the wind was so strong it took the acne off me face I have still got a 'Joker-like' smile from the chill, running back with the wind behind me made me look like an elite runner, it was like treading water - probably the hardest training session i have ever endured.
Haha at David, i had a run tonight along moreton shore. Freezing as hell!! Thank god for my Canterbury Skins!!
Jay yeah i know you, you had a friend called Clarkey who had THE smelliest feet i have ever known, and I was in the same year as you for a few months whilst I was trying to do A-levels
Thank goodness for David - I feel like a gooseberry!
There is a pretty cool chant of Oggy Oggy Oggy that goes on in the descent into the tunnel, which bemuses the cars (who are still allowed the other side for the first stretch, which I found a little alarming)!
If you get through to the X-Factor final based on an echo in the tunnel, you'll still be better than a good proportion of those who are attempting to sing and you'd make a much better version of Hallelujah!
(A plague on her head for messing around with that song)!
And if you know yer history - its enough to make yer heart go waoh woah woah,
In fact i am going wear me Everton 'Run 4 Rhys' top, its inspirational - got so many comments from me fellow runners and a pat on the back, when i ran the GRN last year.
Hiya all! Will be running this with my lad who has probably been called Keith Peacock 1!!!! Looking forward to running the city through the tunnel and that fab finish up the prom to New Brighton! Live in Wigan and left the 'pool back in 1977!!! Also running the Half Marathon in March - glutton for punishment or what?
Just printed off the entry form - rather let the running lapse over the past year or two (other commitments meant I decided not to enter races, which meant I lost the motivation to get out - but I did get on with the other stuff!)
Well have now taken the plunge and entered. Am looking forward to this. Just last night got my club running vest. From a very very newbie member of a running club, do I have to wear the vest as I've entered affiliated. Its just its a rather fetching blue Would much rather run in my LFC training kit
Hi just read all the threads on this one, I ran it the first year it reopened again after a long time, love running in Liverpool beautiful city but all the races are sooooo expensive compared to others that I do
Nutty if you've entered as an affiliated UK Athletics rules state that you have to run wearing your club racing vest - you could always put your LFC kit underneath??? Still debating wether to do this again as I am getting married on the 29th!! Not sure if I'll have recovered by then
I had been dithering and considered Edinburgh mara, Great Midlands Fun Run (8½M) and Coventry Northbrook 10km, but have finally plumped for this one - sounds like fun! Entry in the post today.
Nutty - I'd say wear what you like (just don't tell UKA I said so). I doubt anyone will be checking up on you! I'll be wearing my (red) club vest.
Fluffs - congratulations! How does Mr Fluffs feel about joining you on the run, as well as in holy dreadlock?
Yeah thought so, not that bothered really. Nowt in the rules to say you can't wear the shorts though lol Come on LB where you hiding after the momentous spanking we gave the old Toilet
Re Fluffs point about the expense - check out http://www.runliverpool.org.uk/Forum.php for a good explanation of the costs we runners aren't always aware of. I've heard similar reports about the varying charges imposed by other police forces and local authorities.

I do hope the weather warms up!

Its a grand old team to play for,
its a grand old team to support...

Sure you all here me in the background!!!!!!!!
good on you for wearing the vest.
Though i might just choose to block out the Everton Chant
Jay I reckon we start a chant of "When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother, "What should I be?"......" lol
Too cold to go training today I thnk
I can't get out!
Roads are ridiculous......
I was in Chester the other day and I couldn't BELIEVE how bad the traffic is round there - 1.00pm in the afternoon and gridlock!
And people randomly stop with HUGE piles of traffic behind them for no reason at all......
What's that all about Dave?
Jay - I hate the snow. Anybody targeting me with a snowball would have got a knuckle butty for their trouble!
Never seem to have that problem.... We do have problems with tourists, But that tends to be in the pedestrian areas
Must have been reserved specially for me then......... Funnily enough - we don't have many problems with tourists round here.....

Hi LB, hi everyone.
Guess what - I didn't go to Oldershaw!
