I ran the London to Brighton at the weekend but i'm feeling the need to start training again. I read somewhere that i should have a day off for each mile raced but having 56 days without running just sounds silly to me. My body doesn't feel tired and my muscles have stopped aching so why shouldn't i train?

I doubt that you'll be in great shape so early after the L2B but you know your body better than anyone else.
I think if many of us followed the advice of the so called gurus then we'd get little training done!
The gurus bite ass. Read that it takes years of running marathons before you can run an ultra, that turned out to be a load of old rubbish, 6 months training on less than 50miles a week, job done! To be fair i was cycling 50-60 miles a week as well. Training programs also bite, they only ever seem to result in injury for me. I'm feeling the itch for an IM now
most European ones for 2010 have sold out although IMUK has yet to open and there are probably still places at Lanza, France and Regensburg (the new 2nd Germany one)
why not consider Outlaw next August in Nottingham - non IM brand but full distance - quite a few of us likely to be there
Any idea how much it i likely to cost?
"Secondly the cost, this will be £179."
Hmmmm looks like i'll be heading to Nottingham next year if i get in Yet more money to be spent on gear! The gf isn't going to be too happy, chocolate and flowers for her me thinks
