Banstead parkrun this morning. Tad 10 tomorrow morning should be OK - they're worried about ice on the downhill road section. If there's no rain it might be frosty but should be fine getting round the corner at the bottom...

went off road in the snow this morning.........only a few cms but was fun when i kept on getting a wet foot when I crashed through the ice

You cann have points for every 15 mins of a spin class . it is a motivational thread not demotivating but thats it for the funny stuff, next thing I know you will be wanting points for synchronised swimming and bloody line dancing FFS

Thank Gawd for that as I am starting back at spinning next week and prefer it to the turbo!

and by my calculations it actually favours swimmers.
In an hour on a good day I can
Run 7 miles.......... 7 points............ average runner
cycle 18 miles …...... 6 points average cyclist
turbo for an hour..................... 4 points
swim for about 2800 m..... 7 points absolutely shite swimmer

I thought for a mile swim, a comparative run (on calorie expenditure/effort) would need be approx four miles and bike would need to be approx eight miles. If this impression is correct and if 400m swim = 1pt then
1 mile swim would = 4pts
1 mile run would = 1pt
1 mile bike would = 0.5pt.
So, using above the swim and run are weighted correctly. The only discrepancy is the bike where it is being penalised 0.17pt because it's worth 0.33pt whereas it should be worth 0.5pt
(I really need to get out more)
based on IM distances which is meant to be equal effort in all disciplines or so I am lead to believe was the original concept
if 3.8k = 1 point for the swim
180k = 1 pt for the bike and
42k = 1 point for the run
translated to imperial measures
1pt swim =2.4 miles
1 pt bike = 112 miles
1pt run =26 miles
working backwards then.....
roughly 400 m = 1 pt swim
roughly 11 miles = 1 pt cycled
roughly 21/2 miles = 1 pt run
and you get feck all for the turbot or spinning......
I shall go to the pub
Oh and just to make it plain feck all is changing if you dont like, it lump it, in the nicest possible way
