I've managed to miss 4 weeks out of the last 7 building up for Blackpol and I'm still not quite right, so whilst I'll have a bash in April I think I'll be joining you in October - roll on summer long runs!
Having done Loch Ness last year (2nd marathon), I found it really hard! Very hilly.
I haven't done Abingdon yet, but I'm placing my bets there .
I would really advise against doing both if you're not familiar with the distance, I did a half 3 weeks after Loch Ness and it killed me!
Of course, it could just be the fact that I did Blackpool marathon today and am presently totally knackered and thinking "why do I do this?" that's making me say that
Still undecided, Loch Ness scenery is a good selling point and profile is significantly downhill in total but Abingdon has really good reviews as well. I'll give myself till next week to send an entry form off.
Matt - you had better start a waiting list if you want to run this, looks like it is full. I know it got full early May last year so it looks like it is even earlier!

Have you done either before? Stratford, last year, was my first marathon.
I have no idea - a lot can happen between then & now
Oooops I seem to be running this again!
PB course for me but this year it is 3 weeks after an ultra so we will have to see what happens
Just entered too! will be my first... OMG
Good luck for Brighton!
Right im in, god help me
this will be my 12th marathon after this years VLM,
not bad as i was only every going to do one.
This running stuff gets right under your skin.
Looking to do my first marathon this year, should be ready by October.
Question is Abingdon on 17th Oct or Loch Ness on 3rd Oct? Maybe both???

i did Loch Ness a couple of years ago, and loved it.
but then did the new forest marathon and felt like rubbish.
I think it all comes down to how you feel on the day
i did all me long runs and lots of training, but sometimes you just dont feel up for the effort if that makes any sense at all.
Yeah 2 in 2 weeks is probably too much!

Wow - glad I did this last week now as I was going to wait until after my race on Sunday!
I'm sure there'll be some drop outs before race day so definitely worth contacting organisers to get your name down as a reserve...
****THE RACE IS FULL****
A waiting list will be in operation, details of which will appear soon on www.abingdonmarathon .co.uk
I cant belive that its full up already.
im glad i didnt wait any longer to enter, i was going to give it till after VLM to decide.
