Unfortunately I am away over the week that the race is on, but it was my first half ever and I really enjoyed it, though I did find it was rather hilly. I did Chester in May of this year and achieved a faster time by 15 mins compared to Helsby.
i have however now entered the berlin marathon so going to race at Chester half and Village Bakery in Wrexham, both great races.
Yep me too, although I am slightly worried now due to over indulgent xmas and a struggle with the training due to the weather conditions... Still managed a short 4 miler on Boxing day. Haven't done a half since Congleton in October but have done a few 10s so here's hoping,,,, how bad are the hills?
hills are not too bad - it's pretty much flat until mile 8 - then you get some dulation - the good news is that the last 1.5 miles is all down hill, for a nice strong finish
Great race and atmosphere - plus a bottle of beer when you finish!
I'm in for Helsby Ran the Central Lancs half today - let's just say I'm treating today as a baseline and need to put in a bit more work before this next one
If anyone is after a number or know someone who is, I am not running on 23rd and my number is up for grabs. Please email me at NattyBell@aol.com (deadline for transfer is Friday so be quick!)

Is there an on-line route anywhere to periuse? i'm interested in the course elevations etc.
Ta!
Here's the elevation off my garmin...it looks bad but it's really not that steep.
so thats 300 ft of pretty much un-interrupted climb between mile 5 and mile 10.5... and then a lovely downhill bit to the finish!
300ft isnt actually that much though is it?
Thanks for that
