I found it from the humanrace website Ali, it's HERE.
Shaun, public transport there isn't great anyway, the closest you'll get is the train station atthe bottom of the hill. You might find a cheap B&B in Dorking, or you could stay at HC/Touc's place as I know for a fact they're on holiday then.
Don't really fancy staying over for the night s then it becomes an expensive race, and I was just looking for a cheap way to avoid putting on weight after IMWales. Will possibly go for the Luton Marathon instead if it doesnt work out.
Dave is that you on the 2010 Winter Gallery on the human race BB page? If so great times for last year!
CD - 217 out of 380 already !, so I had best keep an eye on the list then, I was hoping to delay entering until Oct (Septs already overspent and its not even started yet !), but I'll enter when it goes over 300.

Sorry - fat fingers 8am startStill not sure if I fancy setting off at about 4:30am to make it on public transport
Indeed, it seems a bit harsh - do they get the route closed to traffic? Only reason I can think of for such an anti-social start time. At least it isn't on a bloody Sunday, I suppose.
No, the roads aren't closed. I think the 8am start is the deal done with the National Trust as it does rather take over their site, parking especially and I suppose they'd like it back to normal shortly after lunchtime. Any earlier and it would be dark though.

TR, I don't know to be honest, the best guess is to look at the number of finishers last year and assume they take around 10% entries more than that.
lottie, the organisers say there's a cut-off for starting the second run, but in practice I've never seen it enforced - I've seen people starting the second run after around 4 hours. They might withdraw marshalling at some point but by then you should know your way around the course fairly well
CD - good plan. Finishers and DNFs was approaching 400 last november, add on 10% and entries must get up towards 450. Cant see it going from 300ish to 400ish in the next week................this is expensive, but you do get a quality fashion garment !
Am not sure about this, actually, despite me being on Gladys's original list. Love the event and quite want to do it (as long as I don't actually think about what it entails - the best way to treat these things I find), it's just that my achilles is really crap and I need to look after it. Not sure that all the uphill running will be good for it. Am torn...
Could be persuaded as long as the cake eating gang are still prepared to be there for a 4.2x finish time...
Thanks Dave, I couldnt see any mention of cut off times on the website.
Last years times all look really fast I think that I would take near 90min to run 8 miles, am I too slow? The second 8 miles would probabily take even longer... I would take around 2 hours on the bike, depending on how steep the hills are.
Hybrids are fine. The hills aren't particularly steep, the main one is about 5% for a mile and a half or so. 90 minutes for the first run would be towards the back, but not necessarily last. Slow & steady is a better approach to this race than banging out the first run too quickly.

7am start?
I might do my cake eating in bed then!
er....so to speak....

I won't care as CD pointed out we'll be miles away drinking Pina Colada and pimping Toucs in the all night casino.

Looks like we'll have great support.
(sorry not sure how one qualifies as a 'pirate' but might be doing this event)#

I'm waiting 3 weeks before finances allow me to enter, hopefully wont be full
I'm in but i'm crap at adding myself to lists- (I usually destroy them!)
Hoping this will bring back the sadly lacking motivation to train!

Is there cut off times that you have to finish each section in? I am considering this...
