Hilariously I have found her on FB and I have asked to join Run Liverpool group but can't message her direct! If you can tell her to message me through her, I would be most grateful! and thank you degsy for your help - I can see the posts going on FB... Just can't bloody contact her!
Here you go StDomingo - hope this works as I've linked from my iPhone. There's about 0.3 mile extra at the start that isn't part of the route but from thereon it's the HM.
That was my plan - second half of the route far tougher than first so first 6 miles easy pace - second half faster. The hill very deceiving - its long so you kind of don't notice it but it tells on you. Great fast finish race though, downhill last few miles. I train around that area weekly and it's not too bad at all.
Not specifically Helen but the 3 mile long laps I do around where I live has a pretty steep quarter of a mile stretch. Hopefully that will stand me in good stead.
On the plus side I'm hoping to finish under 1:45, looking at that course elevation if I can do the first 11 miles at 8 mins/mile then I should have cracked it!
Gaz I'm hoping for a 1.45 finish but I have a habit of shitting it last couple of miles in a HM. Physically I can do it but mentally - my nerves get the better of me. Fingers crossed we both get similar times! Depends on weather though - if you get a headwind on that hill, it's hard.
Just checked weather forecast for race day - 25mph wind! Arghhh!! Bang goes getting a PB. It will be tough as the course very open. Fingers crossed BBC are wrong...
If you've followed Helen's GPS above, there's a very slight tweak to the course to make up the distance lost from bringing the start forward. In the race booklet.
When you get to Dunham on the Hill, instead of going straight on up the minor rd (actual left turn off the A56) continue on the A56 bearing slightly R and then take the next L up a short hill (opposite the yellow pub) to rejoin Village Rd at the brow. Hill's a bit sharper but takes you to the same place
