I had a few scary 4 way pass attempts so sometimes you need to let the slower runners know you are about to come steaming past, and time some overtaking so no one is doing the same the other way
"Please remember to run on the left at all times and pass other runners as quickly as possible" (Taken from the provisional race information)
So I guess if everyone stays left and and don't run 2,3 or 4 abreast and do take heed of anyone politely signalling the intention to pass, then we'll all be ok.
as others have said, it's no big deal - just keep your eyes open and if you're going to have a little walk, just do so by the side of the path and not in the middle
i know its been posted on at least one of the Outlaw threads but damned if i can find it ... anyone got the contact details of the campsite to hand ? cheers
What a good thread. Good thing I didn't see it three months ago or I'd have come in with yet another view on nutrition/salts/water to confuse everyone .
That's a good question MT, I'm looking forward to the answer as I've put salt tablets on my list of things to buy today, but haven't a clue how to carry or take them.
I use Nuun tabs in one water bottle for the electrolytes. I also have a small bag with a mixture of jelly babies or haribo and cashew nuts. It has worked for me in the past on hot days.
I have stuffed my salt tabs in an empty contact lens holder. It fits nicely on my race belt. They do sell an expensive dispensor thingy, but I prefer the Heath Robinson approach.
I dont know how to take them. The bottle suggest 1/2 an hour upto a max of 10. I have tried 1 an hour on a hot day and felt the benefit.
I use saltstick ones, but i put them in little self seal plastic bags.....with the sort of clippy top fastening ..... no idea what they are called, but they stop the tablets disolving too soon
Just reread the epic too (page 2 of this thread.... may have to add that to the psof site

Overall it was not a major issue
Thanks
But I doubt I'll be "steaming" past anyone.

Are we going to try, to have a team photo?.....Maybe after the 1pm briefing?
Are salt tabs the same as Nuun or are they different? If so where do you buy them from?
Good idea to have it before Foo! Some of us may not be standing afterwards!!
Thanks KK, you have convinced me to go buy a big bag of chips for lunch and put plenty of salt on. Carb loading as well as salt intake....sorted
