I knocked out a cheeky 15 mile run this morning. New distance PB. Did a 1.3 mile swim after that so now lying on the sofa to watch the Milan to San Remo. Dont envy those boys, weather looks bad.
1hr 38min run, 9 and-a-bit miles ("and-a-bit" because I realised the Garmin hadn't picked up a signal when I started, so I just ran until it said 4.5 miles).
8 miler for me today in some sleet and other precipitation. Was going to beg off after waking up a bit sick and looking at the weather. But a friend hit me with "HTFU" so I went out and got it done. Glad I did.
Well done IY-glad we dont have tha weather down here;
This w/e I did my first transiction: 30 minutes on the turbo (8min Z2 & 2min Z3 x3), followed by 18 minutes on the treadmill and a long stretching sessions after. It took me one minute from turbo to treadmill (with shoes change and Garmin sport reset). I know it isn't the real think (as I did it indoor) but does it sound reasonable timing wise...?
Plinsky - not bad. Don't forget you'll need to dump you helmet, grab running cap etc. I don't bother with elastic laces for LD events, rather ensure the trainers are on tight.
30 minutes run at lunch time and one hour swim this evening. Tomorrow 15 miles bike ride +/- swim.
Going to Glasgow on Thursday evening (work thing). Does anybody know the length of the crown plaza hotel swimming pool, please? I have tried to look it up but unsuccessfull.
Has anyone tried any of the compression tri suits, please? Any suggestions? Dim Trim Tim, which programme of the Finlk book are you following: just finish, intermediate or competitive ?
30 minutes recovery turbo at lunch then hour swimming tonight.
DTT - what SD said
I have a few tri-suits but none marketed as compression. Having worn compression gear I'm not sure I'd want a compression trisuit My 2XU shorts do put a bit of squeeze on.
I had a pair of compression socks. They were ok when i first used them but more recently i started to get inflamed & itchy ankles everytime i wore them so dont bother now.
I do wear calf compression sleeves though, not sure how much difference they make though.

Thanks Nursey. Good run, my forerunner is a pain in the ass for picking up a signal sometimes.

Nice one IY. It's always good to HTFU.
I wonder if Rafi was riding around the Chilterns today when he gave up after the viz was so poor he lost sight of his garmin.
This was my battle with the elements today.
Nice report Cat

You lot have been busy.
I'm on a rest day and I spent it learning about wound management, including (among other things) how to use maggots to clean wounds.
Schools here are closed tomorrow because of the snow.
Many thanks,

Good write up Cat, sounds like it was a nice character building event.
Well done Tim, 2 minutes on a turbo would do my head in let alone 2 hours.
IY, your Trianglia Beanie will be in the post on Wednesday.
Excellent news SD!
What's your t-shirt size? I'll have to try to hunt down a tri club tech tee for you. Similar to the one the Budgie wore at Stafford yesterday.
Thanks guys.
