Ouch SD! Hope you're not out of action for too long.
Had a great swim session with the tri club tonight, really enjoyed it. We did a timed 400m, first time I've done that, 7:43. I didn't get a chance to speak to our coach, so does that sound good, bad or indifferent?!
I've had to ease off over the past few weeks due to knee pain. My left knee is playing up again and having had a Microfracture procedure on it back in '98 I'm a little worried more of the same is required.
I'm in-between Xrays, surgeon visits and MRI scans as I type. I'll know more by the end of Friday. Until then, I'll keep taking things nice and easy.
- swim ... Main set off 4 x 400m (in the 7:21-7:40 range)
PM
- 2.5 hrs on the bike. First road bike ride of the year. Was cut short a little by Training partfall having an unclip moment and gashing his eyebrow open
Nursey thats not a bad time at all .... keeping that pace consistent is the next step
I have done lifting, shifting, shopping and chores today which is fine as that is what I had planned... 3 hr bike probably tomorrow with a cheeky little run off the back
Glad someones training. Just going to take another week off myself to hopefully fully mend.
The way i see it Is.
I followed Fink bang on for 12 weeks, deviated to do the marathon so that meant i did more than the planned running. I also threw in the swimathon & another long swim session that wasnt part of the original plan. So, technically i'm probably not that far off what i should have done.
just need to convince myself thats not a load of old rolox now
Andy, another week off now will be more than worth it in the long run, I reckon. And you've done really well up to now, hitting training plan week after week. I have yet to complete a whole week's full training.
But you've done a marathon and a swimathon, your swim distance and time is great, everything's good. Your body will thank you. And you might have a new book to read soon
Cheers. Feeling ok about it now. Ive cycled to work rather than walk this last couple of days as it hurts less.
feels a lot better today, redness has gone & swelling is reducing. Rest & ice etc seems to have done the trick. Its definitely tendoites off the back of the marathon then flapping my feet swimming non stop for 2hrs 20 mins.
yep, looking forward to that one Tim
anyone doing Waveney Triathlon this weekend? I'm marshalling so will see you there if you are

SD - yep - go and see a physio.
I'll give it a couple of days before spending money on physio opinions.
Ice,heat,compression, elevation first
Sportlink is a good shout Budgie.

Nursey, sounds good to me. I haven't done a timed 400 in a while, but I'd be chuffed with that.
Nursey, I'm not a speedy swimmer by any means but the best I've ever done in a 400m is about what you did. Congrats!
Well done nursey, good time. I think the 400 i did was just over 10 minutes
Set up a fantasy cycling league for the Giro d Italia that commences at the weekend

This weekend I shall be mainly working ... not long til holidays
Evening all
just one session for me today
PM
- 70 min spin
- 8.5 miles trail run
- 30 min recovery spin and stretch
Had a lovely 50 miles this afternoon ... spring has certainly sprung today
Nice one ... I have my first longish ride planned for the weekend .... I'm nervous about it
Will. have a word with yourself, you will be absolutely fine
Quick bike and brick run today, biked in shorts and short sleeves for the first time this year, felt almost naked!
Maybe that's next.
See you at Waveney SD hope you don't get the shouty man again.
Good effort Tim
I volunteered Ali but said i didnt want to go on the entrance to the leisure centre as i dont have the adequate tollerence level for idiots.
Arleya & I did the bike mount/dismount for the Spring Waveney last year so i think we may be on that again. Are you racing or helping?
Easy day for me today
AM
- Swim - 30mins recovery
LUNCH TIME
- 4 mile mixed pace run along the river
28 hilly miles on bike, ave 16.8mph. My average is up from 15mph, pleased about that.
Lovely sunny day, arms and legs out, mouthful of flies. Ah, spring.
Just a shade under 51.5 miles biked this afternoon. Why did I pick a route which was uphill all the way home? Feels good anyhoo.
PS Well done Tim, speedier than me!
Because if its downhill all the way home thats cheating
Good biking you two. Ive managed 6 miles this week
I've just got my first iPhone so this just to to see if I can post from it!
Well whaddyaknow?!
