But what if I'm having a fat moment too? Like, having to weight bear extra Xmas poundage thus putting extra stress on said Achilles. Sounds good to me.
Ah! Now that is helpful indeed, cheers Seren. It was rather niggly in the pool today, so good advice. I think I may just use the excuse to faff about at the end of the lane before meandering gently forward for the next lap.
Serious calf/soleus tightness though...Going to add heel raises to my programme and have been foam rolling like mad.
It was gorgeous out there... and I saw 3 other runners enjoying it too, on a route that I normally don't see anyone on. 12 miles done and dusted with a grin on my face all the way.......
Mornin' to you too PSC. Although I think it's no longer morning.
I am choked with cold again . I'm so bloody annoyed, as I ran on Wednesday, felt great and really enjoyed it. Been downhill since........... Also, since it's Hogmanay tomorrow and my birthday on the 5th, I am expecting precisely nothing of myself until the 7th. Pleeeeenty of time to get Outlaw fit
Nurse - I might suggest to OH that we could have a trip that weekend - I wouldn't mind doing the shorter route. I'll have to chat to him. His granny is a bit old and losing her marbles, so he might like the chance to go and visit

at least none of us will feel cold on the swim
Scuse me buttin in ... heel drop for an achiiles and not heel raises, you will overload it
Stand on a stair and drop the 'bad' heel down, bring it up again by taking the weight with the other foot
what is that bright thing in the sky......?

Oh yeah... it was past the top of the clock.
Colds should be banned... Vit C is prescribed. Oh hang on, you're the Nurse!!
Vit C, you say?
I was thinking more along the lines of Bowmore
Mulled wine always good... Vapors clear the sinuses!
Is that a professional recommendation missus ?
Anyone doing the Half Outlaw ?
Nurse, another vote for gluvein/mulled wine.
xxx - yep, I'm doing the Half
I can't stand mulled wine, I was very sick on it over 20 years ago and the thought of it still makes me shudder!
early morning swim done....lovely and quiet
Seconded Happy new year and good luck for 2013
This will be my long bike for week 19
Nurse - looks great, I know the area well (OH's family are from Hawick) if the weather is kind then it will be a great ride
Yep, looking forward to it. Missed the inaugural one this year as I has pleurisy.
