I would like to get on with this now. I feel like I've been tapering since Wednesday before the half. Missed todays and Tuesdays bike so another short week. I should be doing more
Am wearing flat shoes the whole time just in case as I don't want to get injured!
I keep trying to find paths with the least amount of potholes for the same reason! I'm loving the taper - get a couple more hours at the weekend. I'm just so excited - quite like the having to wait, becuase feeling excited is a good feeling!!!
I reckon the anticipation might be better than the day itself!!!
Is anybody else just getting fed up with it all and just wants to do it and have a rest? or is it just me, or is it just as its getting to taper time
Take heart, for you are not alone. Half of me is sooooooooo knackered and just wants to eat chips and sleep, and the other half is soooooooooo excited and just wants to go and do it now.
Question about camping, I did intend to go on the saturday allowing me to keep my bike in the car till it was racked, hence quite safe whilst i was at breifings ect.
Now the wife is going to drop me off on the friday night with all my stuff so she can have my car for the weekend, and I can relax more on the saterday but this means I will have to keep my bike in the tent on the friday night and saturday, or is there any other options.
its not hard to get on to and the local theives would know that all the bike there are going to be worth a few quid so you might get some opportunist theif going around and having a look ........
I wouldn't think so but i wouldn't leave my bike unlocked up there
Its not like a local campsite where everyone knows each other and a stranger would be noticed...........there are hundreds of strangers there so easily for theieves and toerags to wander about..

We are booked into the Premier inn Friday and Saturday, more than happy to stash it it there for you
especially if its better than mine, might make a discrete swap
The campsite had lots of signs up saying to lock your bike up when not in use so I think it's been a problem at some point. thankfully anyone trying to nick Pip would put their back out before they got very far.
Bookie is keeping me on a tight leash. Badger worst case if you are worried I have been able to get the nice people at one step to keep valubles in there office before. They are normally very helpful on things like this.
Right.the final deatils are now allup.............the pirtae bike station is the first one and the 5th one at 80 miles.its also the special aids station........not sure that it fits with my plans..............16 miles in is way too soon to need it..and i would like the second lot of my gels close to the middle point not 80 miles in..........I'm sure that they have a reason for having it so late and not on the feed station earlier..........

I didn't realise with the 17 hour cutoff they give the extra hour to the run not the bike like IMW.........
so only 10 hrs for the bike and swim and T1......so that menas if you take more than 2 hrs for the swim and T1 then you will have to average more than 14 mph......
I think you have missed out 30 minutes on the bike but yes that's about right, Don't forget IMW is hilly Nottingham isn't so not as hard as you think it is.
I realise that its flatter........but with the extra hour I just asssumed that they would add it on to the bike.....makes sense to me......I'm not too worried unless i have a nightmare as I have worked a lot on my bike the last 18 months
Comments
surely cokes on the banned list
that would be impressive, Seren doing a line in transition, remeber to pack a straw or rolled up fiver into your T1 bag
What if she just skin's up and shares?
i'd ride my bike straight into the lake
Nah, you'd get blown in at HPP.
We could make a sit-com out of this?

Tired badger......I'm sure there would be room in someone elses car for the night......
Is there much chance of anything nasty happening to bikes at the campsite?
depends of if Cake is camping !

must rethink my gel strategy again........
But who's keeping an eye on Bookie!!
Never throught of that?

or am i reading it wrong

Yes I read it as you need to be out of t2 by 10hrs 15mins - average if you take the full 2 houers swim 14.25 mph
I realise that its flatter........but with the extra hour I just asssumed that they would add it on to the bike.....makes sense to me......I'm not too worried unless i have a nightmare as I have worked a lot on my bike the last 18 months
It says you have to be in T2 by 16:00 and you have to be out by 16:15.....so that just gives 10 hours until you get to T2
It will be easy them.
