not read the race info yet but checked my race number. they seem to have put me in the wrong age category assuming it is your age on the date of the race, anyone know?
ive been counting on my fingers and using internet age calculators and im sure im not as old as they think I am, then again the fact that I couldnt actually remember my age is a bad sign, maybe its mental age (in which case I'd be in the under 12's)
Still, I'm quite glad the extra hour has been tagged on the run, or at least I am until after tomorrow - 112 miles in the Fens should tell me how long it will take. My bike currently looks like a mobile picnoc - I'm trying out my nutrition for the big day
Can someone with a wealth of experience give me a quick run down of what what happens on race morning before the race, things like when do I get changed into my wettie, load nutrition on bike, pump tyres up, flap around like a panicking loon!
I am staying in a hotel abouaway miles away, when should I get up? Where do I go first?
Peter ... thats the trouble with taper, it gives you too much thinking time
There really is not a lot to do no race morning once you get to transition, what you do in your own time before then ref ablutions and what have you I'll leave to you!
I personally would not do anything to my tyres unless we have some very hot weather Nutrition to be put on the bike yes , that shouldnt take more than a few minutes Wetsuit on - dpending on how long that takes you to do I would start this about 30 mins before start time Portaloos - dependant on your personal ablutions as above - queue when you are doing the previous two! You really do not need to be in transition much before an hour prior to race start, if you are you will find that you are worrying over things you'd forgotten to worry about You will have driven the route from your hotel to T1 many times, you will know how long it takes, allow longer to park up but from memory it wasnt too busy
Pikie - I think it says in the race breifing which bags are put it and when and which ones you have access too
just want to get going now, ie be in the water and swimming, then it's no going back! Looking forward to it now and I think the fact I am currently of the booze isn't helping as I am generally being a moody git!

Seren, it won't be a problem for you, you averaged higher than that on the DIY course and thats a lot harder than the outlaw
I would have to have some mechanicals and a few punctures I think to be near the cutoffs on this one..........
after being at the cutoffs at IMW I know its a horrible feeling to be chasing them/...........
It is big part why being rubbish and asked sarah to do the swim. Just hope can actually get through the bike course this time.

its to do with your age on the 31st december I believe...
Thanks Seren, that would make sense
Do you become an old fart this year too HONK ?
so the calculator tells me, but in my head im still 19
What Seren said. I've raced all year in a new age group but still have exactly 2 months to go
Age group move is always a good opportunity to smash it.
Its all become very near ... positive thoughts .... positive thoughts ... positive thoughts
Got Ow Swim Smooth training tomorrow, so hopefully that might help me save an extra couple of minutes ...!
873 - I'm a number
Can I taper know? Should I build through the taper or smash it at the start of the taper up to running twice a week and then reduce.
Problems, problems.
Are they going to sign the bike course or do I have to look at it beforehand?
Can I share a tent with Seren?
Will my wesuit fit?
Did I ask that question about Seren out loud?
Oops.
544 It's all getting too real now!
