Adharanand Finn travels to Kenya to study the art of long-distance running. Hilarious, uplifting and ultimately inspiring, Running With the Kenyans is about running very fast for a very long time.
Thanks K8. I remember that name from articles in RW. Does he still write for them sometimes? I wondering if you have just decided to give an impartial view of the book or do you have some connection to it?
It's not my review - it's the one given by Amazon on my daily deals email. I only had a couple of minutes to post before I went to work so copied and pasted.
But I have read it - and enjoyed it. It cost me £7 a couple of months ago.
Me too...just finished reading it. Really interesting read and goes a long way to explaining what makes them so good. No magic potion, just a unique mix of nature and nuture.
Enjoyed the insight into the Kenyan runners, but the author is missing any form of backbone and gives up on just about everything he tries.
Although there are some very good parts that make the book worth reading, especially for 99p, overall its a story of a bloke wasting a fantastic opportunity.
