So let me get this right. I am cycling past your house, and then the short what 10 miles to newlands, meanwhile you are getting in your car? Man up you wimp. Its not like its even lumpy till we get to Newlands! If you are getting in your car, by default you are buying me cake all day. Whats the point of having an expensive bike if all you intend doing is driving it about like some kin lord of the manor in the back of your car. I could understand if you had to ride 20-25 miles to get there (like me!) but no, its half an hour away. Did you buy those expensive wheels as the lighter weight would save you petrol driving them about?
Ride your fkn bike. It will make you faster (tm CRaB) NFRS.
It was DB's Surrey beginners rides that got me started and believing I could actually do a long distance Tri. I wouldn't have got around the Outlaw without him and was gutted when he didn't make it! Top bloke in my opinion! and I still owe him a pint or three!!
Room for 2 more ?? Myself and button mushroom want to make the most of this lovely weather and what better way than to spend the morning riding up hills
I have now actually moved the bike from the garage to the house and have removed the MDF dust from it
Now need to remove tri bars, do tyres, find all spares, sort kit, print arrival instructions and prepare to get up at silly o'clock........so I can push my bike up some hills
Wife giving me grief I can't stay out to play until 5pm so will go for a club ride instead as they finish by 1-2pm. We are riding up to Boxhill so if I see you I will give you all a wave. Enjoy your ride.
Another top day out. Thanks to Dusty for organising the ride and the weather. I didn't manage Coombe or Chapel hill but still enjoyed the day. Hill training needed perhaps. Great to see people again, Siggy you were missed.
And Schmunks gets the gold star for getting up Coombe.

Gaylord option. Start the tape.
DB, is there a map of the route available anywhere (e.g. map my ride?), if so can you post a link?
Sorry, haven't got one.

Schmunks did it, but not the bottom loop bit, we won't be doing that, just out and back - ish.
Is anyone else ever so slightly scared and wetting themselves over this

mutter mutter mutter,
It will be fun Schmunks. DB will fall off at least twice (he always does)
Hills will make you a tough cookie, and theres no rush getting to the top, its just about getting there. Although feel free to annoy DB , I will be.
Youll be fine, we'll look after you, there are chips at the end
I would prefer a pasty
Schmunkee
Last time I did this I ended up walking parts of most of the hills!!
I am not built for up flats and am really out of shape even by my standards so I'll be bringing up the rear most likely
And they are super good at looking after us tail end charlies
Bassy - spare us all. Let him drive, it's far less faff.
Well its a bit wimpy when you live on the doorstep init.
Is it a 9 o'clock meeting ?
He always has a bad something or another.

Morning Campers
Here's hoping the weather improves as it's still chucking it down and blowing a hoolie over here
Mr P has just gone out with the dogs and he is not impressed with life (or me!) at the moment for getting him into this!!
Excellent, see you there for a few laps of Centennial Park ...

Great fun, even the slight detour to Whitedown hill.
Good pedaling all, and top ferret biscuits
Cheers Dustboy - good day out! The burgers at the end were definitely worth those hills!
Great ride. Shattered now. Zzzzzz.
Cheers DB!
