did a 5 mile run today as one leg of a relay team.boy was i crap.......I had even grabbed the easiet leg........I think it must be a mental thing where my mind stopped me from running fast in a campaign to avoid injury
Just been to Boots for Immodium & Voltarol, I think my lists are complete, the only thing I cannot even begin to contemplate is post race food. What do people do? Pack sandwiches in the post race bag? Fish & Chips in Tenby? Guiness & a bag of pork scratchings? I cant even begin to imagine what I might even want, I read someones race report from last year and they craved cornflakes of all things.
FRV - I don't know what IMW plan this year, but there's usually (well has been in all IM events I've done) food available in the finisher's area so no need to supply your own
in 2011 it was fish and chips which went down well.....followed by a couple of pints....
and then a big fry up the following morning followed by rather a lot of pints....10 I think!!!
Chris yes, Immodium Instants to take as a precaution before the run & I will carry the Voltarol as a just in case, I've started to get a few aches, pains and grumbles from my left ankle, just repetitive impact injury I think, nothing major but wouldn't want it to spoil my day & I've taken it before so happy with it's effects.
Thanks for the info fat buddha, I will aim to be finished before the pubs shut so worst case scenario it's several Guinness & pork scratchings then.
Rocco at the moment I have no idea ..Ive not been before so I dont know the layout of the place .. I have no doubt we will be in pirate kit for the majority of the weekend and will be there from the Friday If I get chance to check out a suitable spot and update the thread I will do otherwise hover around the swim start and look out !!

Just popping in from the Henley thread to wich all those racing good luck on sunday
There was loads of food last year, the pork stuffing and gravy baps were particularly amazing
so my incentive to actually hit the cutoffs this time is food

Meldy will probably be on the corner of road where the athletes turn right to go towards transition by the white hotel. That's a good spot to be in.
