Not sure I am trusting these timings as they seem to take the time from when they are updated on the web as opposed to when he actually passes the mat?
SaintB - I notice the blob is static for a while once they have passed over a timing mat (the orange blocks). It takes about 10 mins for the chip time to show in the splits, by which point the blob has jumped along the bike course
I believe the timing mat data is transmitted in packets. Or that's my understanding of it from previous discussions with the people who used to run the old tracker app that you were able to purchase. Perhaps there's a safeguard in place to calibrate position/time when people cross the mats.
I am staying up til he is off the bike. Once that happens, I know it's down to only him and not mechanicals etc. And at that point he'll be so determined to finish, he'll crawl it if he has to

Confirmed by time clock round the turn at Hawi

Am I reading into this right?
My little blob is back in motion
Kinda liking following a dot on a map, as opposed to the usual staring at a splits screen, wondering if the tracker has gone down yet again
Watching the blob on the ipad and the pros on tv

That's my perception anyway
The dot is estimates... So will be waiting for actual time to catch up...

89.5miles 7:29:18
Night all, will check in latre and see you then
Cougs - that should bring him into T2 on one of his targets
ISB - nighties. I'm calling it quits after T2
Can not sleep...
Looks ms like he is coming past the airport
I wonder if he will pick up the pace a little if the red line is the run route? Might pick his spirits up?
yeah he only have 10-15 k to do now... Can see the runners
And will have 8 hours plus for the marathon
That's well within his targets assuming his legs and feet hold out, but his sheer stubborness will get him through whatever he is dealt after T2
My little blob is approaching T2
Yeah the last twists before he dismounts
My little blob is in T2
He's certainly making us sweat for this last book split
