Woohoo longest run in nearly 3 weeks completed - 5miles in 37 minutes. Legs felt like lead and I was puffing like an asthmatic granny but i did it and hip feels pretty good so far
Hi I'm joining this thread late. Are the timing chips picked up at registration with the race number and wristband? The participant blurb talks about chips being available for rent. Anyone know?
Bags all packed and not leaving till Friday morning, Must remember to check in online in the morning. Undecided on what kit to wear but it's definately shorts for me and could be club vest though I prefer an older well worn one. Bought a pair of union jack shorts a couple of weeks ago but not done a long run (more than 12) in them yet so may save them for Rome in the Spring. Taking a trip up to the Expo late Friday afternoon if anyone wants to tag along.
Setting off for Southend about 9am tomorrow morning and not sure about internet access in my apartment so this might be it from me until my race report next week! Just want to say best of luck to each and everyone of you. It's been one heck of a journey to this point and most of us have had our share of ups and downs. But Sunday's nearly here so after 2/3/4 months of training, it's time to deliver!
Everyone get out there and give it everything you've got. See you on the other side!
ps. Am in Berlin with my Mum and Dad but have stuck the pub into Google maps and I'll see if I can swing them down there with me for a couple of swift ones on Sunday evening. If I manage that I'll nip over and say hi to everyone.
Chownsie - No worries about mp3 in Berlin. Used mine last 2 years.
Lufthansa have stuffed up my flights. Changed in Feb. Just tried to check in. My flight ex-Newcastle doesn't exist. On their website Lufthansa have my journey starting in Brussels. Going to make for an interesting phone call in the morning. I may get angry.
Leeds Buddy, cool, my flight lands at 12 on the spot. i will wear the team gb Olympic medal presentation jacket, hopefully I will stick out like a sore thumb, otherwise personal message me and we can swap email, mobile details.

Still undecided on trainer, so have packed two pairs, And three tops and threepairs of running tights, and two pairs of shorts......
Chownsie, you might want to check the rules about using your MP3 player, most races in Germany don't allow them.
