SA i think logistically its a bit of a mare but my mate loves that crap so we have made him logistics manager for the group all the rest of us have to do is pay up. Pack up and follow him job done
You will have such a good time at Roth, the climb up Salarberg (check spelling) is amazing, as is the finish. Chrissie Wellington was giving out the medals in 2010
don't expect the same reception on the Solarberg on the 2nd lap - unless you're at the pointy end, most will have fecked off by the time you get there again! it's a bit disappointing 2nd time around
Without reading back through dated thoughts on this thread, if we had some suggestions for next year that will attract a good number of pirates, be accessible to all, within a feasible budget bearing in mind some come with family than I am sure a decision will be made in the next couple of weeks
In my opinion it doesn't need to be branded, just a damn fine event!
Why not all go out and steal some bread, or a hankerchief, and get transported to the colonies like the good old days? All your transport, food, and lodging paid for, just the odd flogging and the small matter of it being a one way ticket, but worry about that after the race. Last one out please turn off the lights ...

Doubt it will be Roth, RBM, the ship sailed there in 2010.
As meldy and Barlos decide, we can ply them with drinks in Lanza
I am open to bribery if anyone wants me to push a particular race
RBM
What are your logistics for Roth? Or haven't you thought that far in advance.
Really fancy Roth, but did say I wasn't long next year, but then again I said that this year!
Problem I have is wouldn't be able to take the family, special needs and German's don't mix
the pirates went to a roth a couple of years ago

Solarberg?
That is a real TdeF hill that one ... only room for one cyclist up the summit

It certainly was .. it was like I had missed the party !! Streamers and balloons and beer cans and tumble weed
But worth it just for the 1st time up there!
Can recommend IM Oz at Port Macquarie
Money!
So... where we going then??
As a (forcibly)retired IM pirate I hope it's somewhere where there's an option for a half or a relay! Or an Oly race the day before like in IMCH.

IM Sweden seems to get mentioned a lot?
Maybe with the number of pirates being so huge it's possible to always do a home and away championships? Like this year with Lanza and Henley?
And IM Wales seems popular - that could be the home choice?
That's my suggestion to keep lots of people happy?
I would be very interested in doing France even though its a beast of a course!
Has Almere been sunk? I'd be keen for that Wales not so much
Im france.... im branded, spectator friendly, but opens soon
Its travel friendly
Almir.... Close but some dont like wave starts...Not a holday destination...
Sweden - beer costs......so no
France would work for me actually.
