You'd not have the ANT+ stick that reads your speed sensor ?
don't all / most of the Garmins come with an ant stick anyway? I know my 910 did. but as Cougie says you wouldn't necesarrily need the garmin to use traineroad
I know my 500 didnt come with one - but I'm sure there are other packages.
From what I've read- if you havent got one - get the Suunto one rather than the garmin one. Its cheaper and smaller - a few people have broken the garmin one as it sticks out of the laptop quite a bit,.

The 910xt will come with one because it transmits to the computer via Ant+ to save workouts. The Edge 500/800 connect via cable so don't come bundled with a sensor. Not sure about the 510/810. Check with DC Rainmaker
The nice local DPD driver left a 910XT with a neighbour for me today as an early birthday present. So once I get a cadence/speed sensor sorted I'll be getting onto this!
Have been taking a look at the 800s today, and will be purchasing on payday me thinks
You'll still need to buy an Ant+ stick then. Regarding cadence sensors you may want to view the Garmin one as a consumable. They're not that waterproof. I've also tried a Decathlon one that didn't communication. I've got a Bontrager one now on my road bike.
Also CAT, how do you find attaching the cadence sensor on the Stealth... I struggled previously because of the fork shapes, and after riding a couple of days with one it slipped and snapped in the spokes of the rear wheel
Any Ant+ compatible unit will work with the head unit. Ant+ is a widely accepted communication protocol. For more information, check out www.thisisant.com

Magic, willpower, and a whole lot of luck. Or use the other rubber foot in the Garmin pack and some tape around the chainstay so the cable ties don't slip.
Oh, and try not to kick it in to the spokes. I have a *broken* one that I will fix and put on the Stealth in a much better fashion.
Now have two willing victims in our house for "The Tour". TrainerRoad Companion downloaded ready for a side-by-side Sufferfest - there's no slacking when it's competitive.
Pretty simple. Check Virtual Power box, then select your trainer.
Then pair your Speed & Cadence unit and HRM and you would with your Garmin. TR can broadcast the power data to your Garmin if you select TrainerRelay (then you need to search for Power Meter in your Garmin).
Do an FTP test. Weep.
Here is Bontrage sensor on my training bike. Uses rubber band thing to attach.
And the Garmin sensor on the Stealth. Note the tape that stops the cable ties and sensor slipping rearwards along the chainstay.
I'm back on this don't know about doing the suffer tour cos I'm run focused in prep for a marathon. Started off on the low volume base program for the next 4 weeks and gradually increasing my FTP by 2-3 points each session to try to get me back up over 200. At a paltry 165 at the mo

...just to check - you do know that's not how FTP is supposed to work, right??

My Vectors came with one.
You'd bliddy hope so, given the price!

Did you get any haribo with them though ?
No! And nor did I get the tool which I needed to install them (a 15mm crowsfoot spanner for torque wrench!) with was a little annoying,

+1 on the Garmin cadence sensors not lasting all that well
Are the cadence readers interchangable for different GPS headsets?

No, they don't come in pink,
Besides, I heard cougie was timezone doping for ToS.

This is why I want to have my trainerroad sorted just for the tour! What date does it start?
In two weeks. There's a countdown to when the time zone opens on the TrainerRoad site.
Need to get this Garmin asap then it seems and get set up! Presume it's not that difficult to set up?

excellent shout on the tape CAT, that was my problem last time!

You'll get there SaintB!
I'm not doing the ToS as I'm focussing on a half-mara. GB are you doing the ToS flat out that close to Woky?
Just to point out.... Fun that is probably over long enough to make a brew before you finish
...just to check - you do know that's not how FTP is supposed to work, right??
Froome and co probably aren't that worried.
