So the infamous DF3 will partaking (not racing) in the Neolithic Marathon this weekend
He has predicted a less then 5 hour time he wants 4.30 or less
so what do we all think his time will be...baring in mind his less than average training schedule.
So I'll start with 4.47 as I am feeling generous.
Oh there are no prizes other than ridiculing DF3 or hopefully congratulating him on a sub 4.30
Comments
I'm not a DF3 fan, but I'm running MK marathon on Monday desperately hoping for a sub 5. So all I can say is good luck to him and hope he gets the time he wants (well I would, but as I've blocked him, it's a bit pointless saying anything) but hey what the heck
good luck DF3
edited for typos
OK, I will go for 5:22 with a struggle to the finish.
Are there any extra points for predicting injuries? If so, screwed Hip Abductors gets my vote
Seriously tho, Good luck DF3, hope you at least enjoy most of it, and good for you hangin in there and at least getting to the startline!
Good luck DF3
ill choose 4.56
booktrunk - see you at MK on Monday
Good luck DF3, he'll limp in around 6:18
4:43
Good luck
5:20 and 15th in the Ladies V50 category.
I half suspect he has really been training like a bastard so that he can come in with a suprise good time so I will go with 4.35
5.22
Good luck!!!
4:57
5.24.
Break a leg.
4.40
I ditto Xyloid's comment
I also have my suspicions that he has been training a lot more than he has admitted to..... but i'll stick to my prediction
Nah, that's what I suspected before Reading HM and look what happened there. However, I do think he will push himself to get sub-5 and then try and use this as 'evidence' that training is overrated. So I am going for an ambitious 4:53.
I've seen some good runners who train well have right old marathon meltdowns, especially first time out.
If you have a bit of a meltdown over the half marathon and come in 2hours or so, I can only imagine sub 5 would be a struggle.
So, 5.25
similar thinking to Stevie G, and I think he's going to find the hills an unexpected test - 5:14
First half 2:12 with a 1:03 negative split for a total of 3:15 and just missing a GFA at London.....!!
4:44 - best of luck David
He'll doctor the chip for 4.59
3:20 because he'll be able to cycle it and non of us will be any the wiser. He'll also appear on the photos wearing a straw hat and waving an over large red gingham hanky just for good measure.
BTW thanks to the time machine he finished yesyerday with an impressive negative split.
Who's checking his splits?
Pretty much the entire internet world I expect
Is the race chip timed ?
David no cheating now, I am sure Jindalee will be checking and she will not be impressed if you beat her by foul means.
If he's as injured as he says he has been and with limited long runs I'll predict a 5.19.
Ah, now I am thinking I've been way too optimistic. Don't let me down, David!
4.40 and if the sun comes out 5.30
Rumour has it snipers have been spotted in surrounding hills,Serial well wishers are massing with placard's of encouragement in one hand and sharp implements in the other at the 22 mile mark.
Many accused cheats have been caught laying traps and trip wires. Local shops are having a rush on out of date vegetables. In parliament many have been lobbing to move the glorious 12th forward to a new date to be called the fabulous 5th. and prison guards with tracker dogs are on the look out for a shackle shuffler in the area who made it back to the mother country.
Good luck. Keep your head down
Ps Torn calf muscle
Who're you going to post it to?
I'll get me coat......
5:17 I reckon, but in some ways it would be great if he did 7:10 so we could let poohbear know....
I'm doing a marathon tomorrow (my second) and I'm nervous already but I know I'll be able to use DF3 as inspiration as no matter how bad I feel I'm sure there will be someone out there feeling worse!
In all seriousness though DF3, good luck!
5:52 with a mainly walked second half
OK, DF3 has promised to donate £50 of his easy-come wages to charity if the unthinkable should come to pass and he misses his target, on the basis that we all chip in a fiver if he makes it.
So, time to put money where mouths are..
I promise to pay DF3 £5 if he completes the NeolithicMarathon in under 4:29
