yep, a nice week away from work, 6 days running, 1 day traveling, job done
we'll see how you feel after HP40, i wouldnt mind doing it but i would want to 'run it' not walk most of it. only 45 per day average but days 1,2, 4 and 5you would want to do closer to 50 or 60 to give you a "rest" day of 20 miles on day 3 and make an easy day 6
Done it in 14 if that counts, which is 19 average/day (288miles). Was back packing which would make running pretty tough.
Running it needs mobile support as although bag transports exist would you want to send your bag 40 miles ahead day after day? I suppose if B&Bing you could have virtually nothing other than waterproofs and maps.
It is a great route with some fantastic scenery. But if I could do just one again Wainwrights Coast-2-Coast would pip it.
i cant do the big backpack thing Meface, i love to run and like you say, you cant with that much weight. i havent had a real good look at the logistics but im sure you could go light and B n B it with a bit of planning. I reckon i could do it in maybe 4 days, certainly 5 (the 268 mile version, never seen the 288). its all pie though as my missus wont let me do anything mega long next year, i will have a look at wainwrights c 2 c though, is htat the usual c2c?
DK.....it depends on what she classes as mega long.start having discussions about RAAM or other very long distance events and 6 days will then seem like a walk in the park
but yes.you do have plenty of time in years to come to go long....got to get the right balance
at the minute seren 3 or 4 days is pushing it, i did casually mention the quin and the dragons back - even though the dragons back isnt on next year i thought i would test the idea, im priming her for 2015
i walked the second half of a marathon once as a sweeper, it was the most miserable 13 miles i have ever travelled, mind you if you set out to walk it maybe its not so bad
I have walked it twice in its entireity and down various parts with other people (3 days in, 7-days in and 4-days in). Plus done some of the end as same terrain as Cleveland Way.
It is an excellent route. In comparison to the others I have done.
I have a book of a bunch of guys who ran it. Car support would be tough for the first few days. Lots of miles required to cover little of the walking route. For instance could probably do several 30 mile drives to cover 6 miles of walking/running. Would be OK if the car was only pitching up at lunchtime and/or end of day.
As soon as the kids can manage 12-miles per day I can get back to it.
Not sure if I have already posted this because my profile went a but mental the other week but you might find this race of interest. It's in some very good hill's round the corner from us as well if anyone needs a spare bed for the night. linky

Heavy cloud and rain, had a stroll round Rydal and went to Wilfs in Staveley for a meal and a beer
We were students... if we'd have been able to get up before lunchtime might have done it at a more leisurely pace
running the pennine way is on the bucket list at some point
all 260 miles of it ?
Could take a week I would be well up for that.
