Thanks TDS. I think I will be taking my own too. Either that or just eat the Jaffa cakes! Might have to take a carrier bag with me. They will do for the kids!!!
I noticed on the Outlaw twitter feed the last half finisher was in pirate gear, who was it? Personally I'm hoping it's not me next month. Although I'll settle for 16h59 quite frankly.
As second or third to last finisher and last pirate at Outlaw a couple of years ago, I actually highly recommend it. The welcome home was truly uplifting
this really messes up my pre race preperations for the saturday night... i think i might have to find a fish and chip shop and take it back to my tent.....can't be walking too far the night before
Seren there are a few near trent bridge. We could just all club together and drive there say's the one bloke on the thread who can't drive. *flutter's eyelids*
I can also recommend The Goose, it's opposite Morrisons so still close and I'm sure you've found Morrisons by now. Similar ish (possibly a tad posh-er?) pub and food to the Bridge but they don't do 2 for 1. Also opposite it is a Chinese Takeaway which does nice grub as well.
I'm happy to be take passengers to the pub from the campsite if they want a pint with their dinner the night before the race.
Also, a quick shout for any more people who might be interested in volunteering for the pirate feedstation (or volunteering their partners). The pirates have staffed a feedstation at Outlaw since the race started a number of years ago and it's become a bit of a tradition. It's our way of giving back to triathlon. We do the first feedstation on the bike course, which does mean an early start (but we're up sherpa-ing anyway!) More importantly, it means an early finish so we can come back in time to see as many pirates cross the line as possible. In return the perks include free camping, free entry to one of the Saturday swims, a goody bag (and it's a very nice goody bag too!) and a food parcel including sandwiches and a pass to get some hot food at the post race feed tent when we get back. I think they look after their marshals very well!
Please add your name to the list on the supporters thread if interested.
Seren, I go to a nearby chippie and bring back my dinner to the campsite. I think it is called Ladybay or something like that, it is basically a case of taking the Adbolton Lane carry on down the road until you see a chippie on the left, run by very nice Chinese peeps, who seemed to do a roaring trade for the Half.

Just looked up the pub to show it someone in the office whose working near Pierrepont in a couple of weeks and it closed!!!!!!!
Anyone got a backup plan in case it’s not been rebuild before July?
Yes. Just down the road is The Goose at Gamston which is a great pub.
Guessing from driving past the other day they had a fire at the Bridge. Competition to secure the PSOF custom is certainly hotting up.
but will we have to stagger even further for food and drink now
The fire was in December - how long does it take to replace the odd roof tile and whack a lick of paint round the place!!
Think I'll throw my Fixie in the car as well if its a long trek to the nearest pub!!
When I went past going to and from HPP for the Outlaw Half I can confirm that the Bridge looked a mess and a building site at the most.
this really messes up my pre race preperations for the saturday night... i think i might have to find a fish and chip shop and take it back to my tent.....can't be walking too far the night before
anyone know of a goof chippie near by

i always have a beer the night before with my meal so won't drive anywhere
I'll drive you to the pub if you can't go without half a mild, dear.
At the OUTLAW half the pub hasn't even started to be rebuilt, its was completed gutted
Fuck it lets go to Nando's
I'd rather race - I've been training for ages!
i am a training god..got my eye on a shiny new PB
doing the IMW course on friday......thats going to be good training for outlaw

training isn't that cheating?

glad to know there is a back up plan Steady....
I went there back in 2012 for first time, all cooked fresh to order.
I have not found the Morrisons but probably not looked that hard.
Steady a few of us have now a tradition of a english breakfast there on the monday morning if your interested and camping on the sunday night.
I'd be down for fush and chups Seren - I'm sure we can find some booze for your pre-race delectation.
I will have booze in my fridge
along with my sausage and bacon and mushrooms for race day breakfast
