Hi. I'm looking at fitting a rear pannier rack to my Specialized Allez Elite. It doesn't have any lugs in the stays. I'd like to know if there's still a way I can attach a rack to allow me to use a pannier on each side of the wheel.
Any recommendations? Any measurements/clearances I need to be aware of when looking for racks?
cheers for any help.

Saw one reviewed on Bikeradar the other week that attached to your QR lever on the rear wheel...seems to solve your lug issue.
Cheers. I had a read through the reviews on bike radar but couldn't find the one you have written about. Will keep looking, thanks.
it me be easier for my to get a trailer instead. Anyone used one?

How much stuff are you taking ? Where are you off to ?
Thanks Cougie, those links are just what I was after.
I was looking at using the bike to commute. I've done it once before, but 70 mile round trip with a ruck sack weighing 2 stone hurt a bit.
I'm looking at using a commute 3 times a week to supplement my training because basically I haven't got time to fit in training, so I'm trying to eek out a bit of time from other places.
I was looking at something like this

Anyone tried these?
also, I have ambitions of doing a long tour in Europe on my own next year (1000-2500 miles),depending on how much time I can bank in work. With that in mind, I'm probably gonna get the trailer for now and look for a cheap, old, comfortable tourer for winter/longer distance stuff.
