Just had a very interesting convesation with M&M about lots of stuff, including the Pirate DIY Half IM and this. Just posted up on Meldy's FB post, does anyone have logistics for this ? I.E. a bed for the bed before or after?
Travelodge in Aylesbury could actually work slightly better as you can get the train straight back the same day and potentially to the start on race morning dependant on start time
Hey, annoyingly I booked a holiday and fly out the day of the race so am doing Thames Trot instead. Good luck all, the only advice from doing this a few years back was a second pair of trainers to switch at half way point from XC shoes to road runners for the canal path. Oh and maybe some form of route recce for the first half as it got a little like an orienteering event for a couple of us!!!!
Right having checked the date (again), i'll try to make it along to support. My course won't have started, so i'll have a free weekend (other than needing to get a run in - and no, I'm not doing this run!!). Will tie up with Mrs D and any other supporters to try and co-ordinate.

There is a Premier Inn/Travelodge about 10 minutes drive from the start ...

I'm planning on being at the back and following the rapidly vanishing 'proper' athletes
Me too
There'll be a right party in the back - it's like the mullet of racing - business in the front - party in the back
I'm planning on running like a complete lunatic for the first 10 miles, and then sitting on a tree stump broken until Slim and gang catch up....
less talk of cross country shoes.....and getting lost.I have told my hubby this is all on good runable firm trail... like a bike path
Curry gave me the very same advice on the shoe swap, so I'd say it's worthwhile...
So .... Who is going to be responsible for pirate shoesies??!!
I think MrsDigger was going to be doing mobile support. Fairly sure Hofmeister said he would as well if needed.

Yayayayayya!
Nice one Lee
Awesome ????
I might also be able to support but need to look at logistics and "home stuff" first of all
If we give 'pirate shoesies' to Mallowpuff half way, won't he become a free elf?
