Will be nice to meet you Alex and good to catch up with Keith again. I look in at the thread occasionally and have even been known to post on it. Will meet George sometime as we're doing some of the same races. Is Portaloo girl still running or has she retired in a blaze of glory
OB! You traitor! i was skim reading this and look what I find! You bonding with the BK-one over my lack of running since we got back?! Oooh there may be trouble ahead!
LF, the plain is a very vibey place and to go to Imber on the one day a year that the exiled residents are allowed to return to the ruins of their homes (with us!!) will be very special. See you there! xx
Daisy dog, Can't unzip the Warminster website...( what is unzip !!!!! ). Is the £7 entry for unaffiliated or is there a reduction for affiliated runners?
You guys beat me to it. I posted the Warminster club link on our website last night (Monday) and was going to update here today but got overtaken by events. I will be entering as an unaffiliated URWFRC member. Had a look at the map of the course but it was a bit fuzzy so couldn't work out how many steep bits there are. Can anyone enlighten me?
Affiliated is £6. You're asking ME a technical question about computers? I'd open it up to the forum (or anyone else on the planet)if I were you.
Murf Which website? The URWFRC one? Maybe that might be better for George. I think it's pretty hilly Murf. If it's like round here there will be one MOTHER of a hill to get up on to the plain and then undulating or even flat.
I better start training - or even just getting out there for a run...
Looking at the course map on the website and seeing the route go through Danger Zones, firing ranges etc I'm reminded of a couple of months ago when I was training around the Kirkcudbright area.
I found a lane that wove its way around and through an MoD firing range. There were signs everywhere saying "Do not touch any objects lying on the ground as THEY MAY EXPLODE AND KILL YOU!"
With this thought in mind it's quite comforting to know that I won't be anywhere near the front of the pack on raceday. Hopefully by the time I get to the military zones any unexploded ordnance will have been detonated by the front runners!
Foxy, Hello Sweets! Yes, I 'plan' to do this race as well... Was talking it over with Badger a while back... We'll jsut have to see if we can overcome this jinx! Where's the 'new' foxy pic then? Or has it been censored by the site decency inspectors?
