Pedals are no problem and the park is a great place to practice - the road across the middle by Pen Ponds is straight and free from traffic. Really there is not much to it, but you do need to spend some time playing with them to get confident. I commute on my bike so clip/unclip all the time and it just becomes second nature
Park is a bit far for me from Caerphilly and I don't have clips so dont intend to buy them just for this I will be among the backmarkers anyway and anything that makes me slower is not going to help!!! ;o)
Well, I will c u at the back!! ;@> I am intending on getting into the triathalon thing, so hopefully, this race will be the first of many for me! (fingers crossed all)
I wont be doing it as I am doing the world duathlon champs in Oz at same time, but have done quite a few of them now so am more than happy to help where and when I can. Ask away. Also tritalk web site is a good one,u will getloads of good info from the guys.
Assuming they do laps of the perimeter (which is approx 10km long using the roads) then Broomfield hill is short and steep, Sawyer's hill is long and (fairly) gentle)
Injury may have meant that I had to put the kibosh on the Berlin Marathon, but the good news is that I can now have a go at this. I'm sure it'll be far more enjoyable anyway... ;-)
Spans- in the same boat as you. i pick up my new bike tomorrow morning and off to check out richmond pk. First time using spds so expecting to spending alot of time falling over! (must remember to bring a first aid kit with me.....)

Hopefully that will change soon!!
Any ideas for motivation??
However that is about to change at lunchtime. I have my first real bike ride planned
Still it will be my birthday so I am going to have fun!
Where is everyone else staying? Have to book accomodation soon
I did go swimming this morning, but I guess that that isn't much help for a duathlon...!!!
