Cheers folks. Car broke down again but got me there - just. First time I've done any serious mechanics in 10 years & I guess I forgot to give the tensioner one extra tightening turn as it worked it's way loose shredding the belt in the process. Still got to my chosen parking spot & managed a cosy night in Passat Palace.…
Afternoon all, been a little while since I've had a chance to catch up with forum goings-on. Just managed a 10-odd page read back (in an all day conference call with colleagues in Germany, so I have time!) and also have an idea of what some have been up to thanks to Strava/FB. Nice to see TR going well again, as well…
bah, not sure I like my recent office move as it results in me doing loads more work. oh well, best to be working so I can help pay for the sweatshops of the world to make our running kit;) speaking of sweatshops, not seen RB on here in a while and I see there's a shoe debate going on so his ears must be burning. Only…
CC2 - 10 of my miles today were slower than your average. My Abo campaign last summer was built on solid 20 miles run starting out at even at 8:00m/m. I picked up the pace as I got fitter but didn't do any MP miles in them. I'm trying to run them progressive this time with a decent chunk at MP to hopefully see adaptations…
CW - if it's the same ramp test I did on the bike, I think I failed at 410W, but that probably gives you a better W/kg than me! Sounds like the same sort of study I volunteered for a few years ago, partly as I was worried about my heart and wanted a load of tests done. Dan - sounds like a good trip except for the journey…
Marigold - Nice month! Padams- nice LR - looking forward to seeing Barcelona run. CL- Good run on a tough course BEJ- Glad to hear you're on the mend- sounds terrible. BR- Congrats on the 34 equvalent 10k - nice prize- prizes always seem more generous up north! Bionic band sounds interesting. I'm proud of posting my 8+mm…
It was hubris that led to the downfall of my brothers mate not IM Wales, felt he was a stronger swimmer than he was. Jooligan/ TR what were your IM times when you did them (growing interest from an IM wanabee). Sorry to see some a bit out of sorts. So easy for the mojo to cool with the current Covid situation and for us…
Good stuff RB! Absolute sod when that happens - I must admit that whilst I understand that it is difficult for them to marshall the whole thing why they can't put some cheap red/white XC tape every 400m or so on the course (and a bit more at key junctions) just so that people know that they're going in the right direction…
Greetings from Vegas. I see y'all complaining about the wind... I'm guessing that it wasn't quite as bad as the sandstorms which I've been battling against this morning. It was a half marathon of two halfs. The first half, running North up the strip was somewhat wind assisted, the second, South through a very exposed 12…
Afternoon folks, Quick Brass Monkey report for me ... Feeling pretty good pre-race, so set off in a group of about 10-12 just behind the leaders with one guy (past occasional poster) already storming way ahead of everyone. Pace was too quick for me really (5:40/5:45's) but stuck it out thinking the group would break up (it…
