Shades - Great photo. Yes, 5 miles is a nice rest day!! I did notice the new Guernsey marathon course, it looks like a good one! Ian - That's a superb time, problem with a short distance is that if you do go off too slow you probably won't make the time back as you run out of distance! As Big G says I think you paced it…
3:04:46 so an 11 minute PB. Amazing day and no idea where that time came from. Report to follow. Was great meeting Ian in the corral, I’d have stayed for a beer but had some ‘GI issues’ at the finish so family carted me back to my sister’s!
Budapest is on my list at some point, always wanted to go there so may aswell tie it in. Rcouture-That looked a great 22,well done. I had friends over yesterday so didn't run,got my 8.5 in today, remembered to turn at the right time, gives me just under 46 for the week and feeling fine.2 more decent weeks then off on holiday.
Mowzer, Well done. LMUH, It's very rare you'll find me saying it's too hot for me to run as I do like the hot weather. -------- Today's run was a right mixed bag. The plan was to do 5 miles however somewhere between 3-4 miles my leg felt dead and my hip sore so I cut it short but found that the last odd part of the mile…
It was 46 most of last week but 47 since (and including) Sunday. I actually don't get a lot of variation - it goes gradually up and down depending on fitness levels. When I was feeling poorly a few weeks ago, HR was no different than normal. Likewise when my gum was sore.
Shades - 9 firemen, you say. Some people would pay money to have 9 firemen all to themself . Liverbird - There's no need to go to the back of the class. Here's a quick primer! MHR = Maximum heart rate. WHR = Working Heart Rate. There's 2 schools of thought here. When using a heart rate monitor (HRM) some folk say you are…
Sluggie - Cheers. Thought the tale about your dad was amusing as he came out of it relatively unscathed. Shades - Are you going for a marathon PB attempt at Leicester? --------------- I checked my resting heart rate again. It's now 46, equalling the lowest I've ever recorded. I must be getting fit...
i can do royal parks half this year if i want as i got a spot via the ballot but i need to register by 5.30pm today. Thing is it's £46! Is it worth it for a half? Seems a bit steep - how much are they normally? Is there something really special about it which means that i should do it?
Well done to the fellow shadies. Was a fantastic race very good course and very well marshalled and organised... A full race report will follow tomorrow once I've had a good rest bit as SK said I had a great race... Crossed the line in 2:58:46 and was 89th overall. Really chuffed with that...
Oh i also made the error of looking at next weeks forecast on metcheck, 46 mm of rain next tuesday falling as snow, which is at least a foot's worth i think. Some on the monday night too so perhaps i will be walking home from my second xmas dinner after all
