I've started running! And I love it. I'm 43, male, 5ft 9in and 12 stone. I used to cycle the hilly 2 mile commute to the station 3 or 4 times a week but hate cycling. I bought some running shoes, a runners backpack and some track suit bottoms 3 wks ago and started running it! At first I could only run for 2 mins, and ran-walked the whole thing in 24 mins. This morning, I ran for 10 mins straight, walked for 2, then ran the last 5. Time was 16.55. Not exactly Mo Farrah yet, but I'm on the way now I think. Sorry. Long preamble. My question is about how much to do. I need to run the 2 miles both ways, 3 or 4 times a week, for practicality. Is this ok? I'm conscious if taking it slowly, too, hence not running fast yet, etc.
