On the other hand, the weather for London on Sunday looks text book perfect. Not even TR's presence is cursing this one! Session yesterday of 10 min threshold- 8m Kenyan hills- 10 mins thresold. Despite feeling a bit leggy ftom Sundays 22 I felt really strong and hit some of the best numbers in a long while, in quite a bit…
Dawg - I only said 2nd 10m at 10%, not the full 20m.......well that will hopefully get you believing in yourself........strong long run and feeling better doing it.
36.35 in Bristol today. Mildly disappointed I wasn't faster, really thought sub 36 might be on. I did however finish 3rd in AG. As an England masters qualifier it at least means I tick that box. I now just need to run the qualifying time in next 10 months or so.
Great to catch up with GDawg and Lorenzo at the Chandos although they arrived seperately and missed each other. Better race for me today. It was 3:10:45 but a more composed effort. I gave it a punt for 4 miles but soon realised the legs were too tired. So eased back to c7:15 for next 10 miles. Then c7:30 until 24. By that…
OO, the weather is indeed looking good. What time do you start? Should be mid50s at Hopkinton at 10 am. And stay upper 50s/low 60s as you head to Boston/coast. Sunny. That's a good day for that race! I managed to get my 2 subLTs in and sit at 60M for the week. LR tomorrow (maybe a MLR instead) and then roll into a nice…
Martin/KR. Thanks for the info re Leicester mara. Looking at the reviews, I see the course is not as hilly as it used to be. One to consider anyway. My local 10k start is actually too close for a good warm-up, so I usually take the long road there! Last year the Great Eastern Run started at 10:10 on 10/10/10 and this year…
Dawg - if you intend doing London then do the 20m as 10m easy, 10m mp +10%. Do the park run within 15m at one week out. DT - good luck with that. I've done a 20m on the Saturday and then a 10k race on the weds, I ran ok but lacked a bit of zip. But you are used to sessions every few days, I'm certainly not.
Good going GDawg. I was doing 10*400. The first was 1:19 then roughly a second quicker each rep, which plateaued at 1:74. After a long recovery I then did 10*200 but at a much slower tempo pace. Then a 5 miles run home. I was out at 9am when conditions were fantastic. Pretty grim now though and 50 mile an hour winds…
