Tracheitis & the Great South Run

I am due to run the Great South in 2 weeks time, & have got tracheitis.  Ran my 10k a month before the race, so just about on schedule with training.  But at the start of the week I got a slamming headache, fever, & a productive cough.  Saw the doc, who put me on antibiotics (which I've not taken for years), & said it will take at least a week to clear.  Trouble is, cough is HORRENDOUS & the irritation in my trachea is driving me up the wall.  

This will be my fourth year running the Gt South & it's really frustrating getting ill now. I'm thinking it may be best to defer my entry this year...
